AirVenice was a funky delight. A relatively ideal spot to hang your hat while taking in Venice, LA. The beach is across the street, I mean, literally. Santa Monica pier is about a long walk away, and easily done. The Venice pier is equial distance in the opposite direction. Decent restaurants are virtually everywhere. Venice Beach is pure LA, laid-back and cool. If you're going there, you could do a whole lot worse than doing a few nights at AirVenice, an okay hotel on the edge of the dazzling Pacific Ocean.

The property itself was great. The staff were super lovely and the room was very nice and appeared to be recently renovated. Unfortunately nowhere did I read online that Venice beach has a large homeless population and it feels unsafe and unclean (lots of spray paint, garbage etc.). I was really shocked at the surroundings and will not return here for this reason.

My husband and I had an amazing experience during our stay over the weekend. Loved how everything was in walking distance and the access to Lime / Bird scooters were abundant for destinations a little farther. Staff were incredibly friendly and the woman checking us in had a very warm tone that made the experience feel personal & inviting and not like I was just another person to check in and shoo away. It was very clean and aesthetically appealing. We still had a nice view without paying more for a beach/city view. My only complaint is they need to thoroughly check the complementary water bottles in the rooms. Ours were opened and filled with tap (assuming the people prior to us weren’t members and didn’t want to pay $4 for the water bottles so they filled them up and made it look like they weren’t used). But at the end of the day that one thing wasn’t a deal breaker, overall we would stay here again. Also, if you’re hesitant about staying in Long Beach (like I was) due to a bad rep. of high crime, I actually felt really safe here and the surrounding area. It’s really vibrant and fun at night and calm/friendly during the day.
