I stayed in the Brule River room in the carriage house. Just so people know, it’s on the 2nd floor with no elevator. Private bath with shower, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, tv. Air conditioning & a fireplace. Very nice room and neighborhood, with parking in back. Very clean and comfortable. Good communication about check-in. This is the 2nd time I’ve stayed there in that room and would do again.

If you want to be part of Duluth history, you should booked a room at the Salyard Mansion. This is our third reservation in this mansion and we don’t want to book anywhere else in Duluth when we stay for couple of days. You get a unique experience being in the historical part of Duluth and each room is amazing (back in time but very cozy and comfortable).

We loved every aspect of this stay. Even when we returned from dinner there was ample street parking. The remote fireplace sure was nice on a chilly, rainy evening! Tge British pub close by provided the perfect mid-week Bluegrass jam along with excellent meal. This lovely mansion is highly recommended by us!

Staying at Salyards Mansion is an elegant, welcoming experience. The mansion is located in a quiet residential neighborhood on the hillside above central Duluth. As you step inside, you're greeted by beautifully furnished common areas where you can read or relax outside of your suite. Each suite is uniquely decorated. Ours was well-equipped with thoughtful touches and top quality amenities, as well as extra blankets, pillows, towels, etc. Most of the suites are located on the second floor of the mansion. Ours was on the third floor. There is no elevator, so this arrangement may be challenging for some guests. Off-street parking is provided in a lot behind the mansion. Very convenient. There is no staff on site, but that was not a problem. We had a question about our check-in and were quickly able to connect with someone by phone to get the info we needed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Salyards Mansion and are already planning a return visit.

Wonderful place! Loved my room! So quaint and a cute balcony. Very comfortable bed where I slept like a baby. Comfortable stuffed chairs, cute small tables for eating, drinking and playing cards. Each room has their own bathroom! Some with jacuzzis, clawed bathtubs, showers etc. this is definitely an advantage to have your own bathroom. I will go again and stay longer than 3 days!coffee and pastries are a delight in the AM. I also went on a helicopter ride! What an amazing experience!

Only complaint was not checking location of room. It was right by the front door. And area set up for breakfast. I like to sleep in and a little noisy for me. Great staff, very accommodating. Very clean. Would book this mansion again, just in a different part of the house.

This place is an absolute gem. I will absolutely be coming back. The furnishings are incredibly high-quality. You absolutely are staying in a mansion. The room was adorable. It has a giant soaking tub with plenty of hot water and a gas fireplace that was lit when I walked in, they provided snacks freshwater it was absolutely what my tired mind needed. If you are a partner to a mother with young children absolutely buy her a midweek night here to just sit in the tub in silence I swear to God, it will extend the length of her life.

Really cozy rooms with ornate, historic details. Loved the light continental pastries and local coffee in the morning as well as the sauna late at night after a long day. Kirsten made us feel welcomed despite a double booking upgraded our stay and gave us a bottle of Prosecco to ring in the New Year with. Will definitely be back soon! Thank you to everyone who works on keeping this charming historic home running!
