I would NEVER stay at The Hoxton, Edinburgh again, and I would strongly caution others against booking this hotel.When making my reservation, I specifically selected “The Cosy Room” as my preferred room type. Despite this, I was somehow confirmed for a bunk-bed room without my knowledge or consent. I was not made aware of this change prior to arrival and only discovered the issue upon check-in, which was extremely frustrating and unacceptable.To make matters worse, we were informed by hotel staff that members of Luke Combs’ touring crew were staying at the hotel and that our original room had effectively been given to them. We were two adults travelling as a couple, and instead of receiving the room category we had selected and expected, we were apparently downgraded to a room with bunk beds that was completely inappropriate for our stay.What is particularly disappointing is that the hotel made absolutely no meaningful effort to rectify the situation or compensate us for the inconvenience. This was not a minor issue—it fundamentally changed the accommodation we had booked and paid for.Even more concerning, we personally heard three other guests raise complaints about the exact same situation, which makes this feel less like an isolated mistake and more like an unacceptable practice being repeated with multiple guests. Charging nearly $500 for a room under 200 square feet with bunk beds, particularly when guests have booked a different room category, is disgusting.

The room wasn’t cleaned and the staff never gave clean sheets. Don’t expect them to pick up the call for anything after ten.
