"We had an excellent stopover at Purdy Lodge on our way to a wedding. Our room was clean and well appointed the food was delicious and the staff were all very kind and helpful. I would highly recommend it."

"Overall a good stay, great location and sea views from the beer garden. Free parking onsite if you manage to secure a space (more luck than anything). A bit quirky inside at the bar which was cute. We didn’t eat there so unable to comment on food. Room was clean with good amenities for tea/coffee/hot chocolate/biscuits. I’d stay here again tbf. Only thing that stopped me giving a 5* was the attitude of one of the staff members. Middle aged female at the bar who sadly needs some training in customer service/communicating with other humans, was clearly having a bad day but didn’t we all know about it. Also another unusual thing is the reception not opening until 3pm so had to hunt for a cleaner to give our key to when we wanted to check out."

"What a beautiful place to stay. The Gables is a gorgeous house and our room was excellent. Very comfortable with an exceptionally nice ensuite bathroom. Angus is the perfect host, very knowledgeable about the area and only too happy to advise you on places to eat, visit etc. Very nice, tasty breakfast too. We would definitely hope to stay here again one day."
