You get a very good Impression when you come through the door, unfortunately the ship itself pales in comparison and could do with some updates. It is however a lovely experience, but communication from Front desk to ship is poor as certain aspects had changed or were closed, timing different etc., which cause some inconvenience during our stay. The rooms are spacious and clean, the bathroom just needs updating. All the facilities you need, easy access to the dining room and pavilion.
Amazing stay, super friendly staff, the ship is beautiful and full of places to explore, I’m a boat owner and lover and I enjoyed it a lot, it is a floating piece of history. Especially thanks to Mary, she was exceptional and the whole staff in general is super friendly and kind

Room was nice but dusty in places and cabinets need a refresh. Staff very polite and friendly. Took a long time to check in and out due to only two people on reception each time. The hotel definitely needs a refresh throughout despite it trying to maintain the historic feel.

Great historical experience, but poor hotel. Rates are cheap for Dubai, but "superior room" (rennovated) had a very dirty carpet and worn modern furniture. Music played in corridor, could be heard in the cabin all day. Cleaners forgot to clean my cabin twice in four nights. An Ibis would offer better standards. Breakfast and buffet meal were good value. An Ibis would offer better standards. However, the historical tour/tram wete great.

Overall Staff and food were excellent, on the negative side bed smelt bad, towel had a stain on it. Room service very slow to respond. More of the ship should be open to the public especially the engine room. Fascinating history well presented.
Fun to stay on such a historical ship. Enjoyed the experience. Very convenient to the cruise port and the souks (markets) of Dubai.

The history of the QE2 was everywhere, wandering around the vessel was a joy. The reception staff and particularly the concierge were very helpful. The room was very clean and well appointed. The lack of an outdoor swimming pool was a disappointment. I hope that the owners prioritise the restoration of an outdoor pool. An indoor pool was available but was in the bowls of the ship, very small and uninviting. The pool attendant was particularly aggressive and unhelpful. The food in the Lido restaurant was acceptable but the dress code was not adhered to or enforced! For me the vessel's history was my reason for staying and for that I was not disappointed.

Overall it was good experience, as it's an interesting place to stay. Kamala and Charles were always friendly and greeted us each day and ensured we always had anything we required, sometimes before we asked. They are a credit to the QE2.
On the other hand, as we were entitled to 20% off our purchases we always felt like we were begging, having to prove this everytime, having a picture taken of our reservation everytime, felt Insulting. A recommendation at breakfast would be to have a separate frying pan at the egg station for allergens. The pan isn't cleaned between so if your lactose intolerant example, your eggs are still contaminated by the cheese remnants. The food could also be warmer as with the plates also being cold, by the time you get to your table it's already cold. There is good selection. The staff and services at Trendsetters Salon is fabulous, having a salon on board is a bonus. Highly recommend the food in the Golden Lion, it's fresh and tasty, pity we were told it was closed for a few days when we checked in. Communication between the 2 elements from reception to accomodation needs to improve. It's like 2 different properties.

Did the Heritage tour the afternoon we arrived which was great and gave us a good idea of how to navigate our way round the ship after the tour was finished.
Lots of good exhibitions around the ship giving a great insight into the history and significance of the ship over the years.
Would highly recommend a stay and the Heritage tour too.

History... Staff was outstanding and extremely friendly, helpful, and a joy to be around. Large spacious updated room. Food was very good. I added a half board to my Captain's room located on the Sundeck (SU)
Unfortunately my experience was hindered by the extended check in process. Quite chaotic. However, I can not fault the room. Immaculate and clean. Always a unique experience staying aboard this hotel-ship. A lot of history behind it.
