"Clean spacious room, driving up the mountain to get there at night (was also really foggy) was a little precarious. We arrived late evening so the restaurant was no longer open and there is no place close by to get snacks or anything. Had drinks in the bar area which were really good but having a pizza oven or something to heat up or make some appetizers would have really made it better. Staff were very friendly"

Gasthaus Goldener Hirsch

10/10 Excellent

"Enjoyed every bit of the stay. Breakfast was great, restaurant was good, people were excellent"

Hotel Adler

10/10 Excellent

"When I originally booked my stay, comments from previous guests described the decor as old and outdated. I found the opposite. The building is old (German poet Schiller once stayed there), but the room was modern throughout with walk in shower and staff very professional and polite. Breakfast was very good, and the hotel is right on the market square in the heart of the city within easy walking distance of everything. A farmer’s market is in the market square in front of the hotel several times a week as well as a stand with Thuringian bratwurst. A tourist info center by the market square next to city hall (Rathaus) was very helpful. I highly recommend the Adler Hotel in Rudolstadt."

ACHAT Hotel Suhl

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Droebischau?

The best area to stay in Droebischau is within the village itself, particularly around the central market square and Hauptstraße.Droebischau is a small, traditional Thuringian village located in the Schwarzatal valley. It's a very walkable area, allowing you to easily explore the local shops and eateries. For couples seeking a peaceful retreat, staying in the heart of Droebischau offers a relaxed experience. You'll be within easy reach of gentle walking paths leading into the surrounding forests and hills, superb for enjoying the natural beauty of the Thuringian Forest.
