"The hotel easily exceeded my expectations. The hotel is a modern conversion of an old building with before and after photographs on the staircase. It has art exhibitions, art showroom, bistro and a cellar bar with a terrific record (vinyl) collection and occasional live bands (but don't worry, there is another floor between the basement and first floor of bedrooms). The reception staff were friendly and helpful and the room was cleaned daily. Location-wise I found it perfect for exploring Sofia on foot and clean and comfortable to return to at the end of the day."

"Hotel Lion was in beautiful historic building conveniently located next to a metro station and within walking distance to most attractions in Sofia. There was a lovely cafe next to the hotel. In addition, there are many good cafes, restaurants and convenience stores nearby. Staff were helpful. The only small issue was an odour from the bathroom even though my room and the bathroom were clean."

"Budget friendly option in a central location. Very close to Lavov Most metro station which is only 1 stop from central Serdika stop. Can also walk to centre but some sights are even closer. Plenty of food and drink options within walkinv distance. Room was a good size with plenty of luggage space, AC and a small fridge. Bathroom a bit small, especially the sink. Lightbulb above toilet didn't appear to work but other bulb in bathroom did so it was ok. Sometimes a smell in bathroom from outside but not always. Staff were friendly and efficient. Good value for the price."
