This time we selected a director room with city view, we stayed in room 702, it had wonderful views and a dining table surrounded by windows. We also chose to include breakfast, which I would also recommend considering. We have stayed in hotels in "new town" before also, but it wasn't the same. Different atmosphere and not as walkable. Staff are extremely helpful."Reviewed November 6, 2026Return • Barcelona (BCN) - Edinburgh (EDI)BCN - EDI • Direct EDI - BCN • DirectAU$3,933AU$2,446found 14 hours agoper traveller - Stay Central

"I recommend upgrading to a superior room for a much more luxurious space and nice view. I had a lovely room and excellent view of the front lawn. My friend who had a regular room had an okay room with a view of the back parking lot! It’s a beautiful historic property and stunning location on the river, so might as well make the most of your stay! Don’t expect much from the “spa” treatment. It was nothing special and very expensive given the circumstances. The pool area was nice but a bit...

"The hotel was in a very convenient location, the rooms were comfortable, and the staff provided excellent service. After a day of bad weather, I was completely exhausted, so I ordered takeout from the Indian restaurant on the ground floor—it was absolutely delicious. The staff were wonderful, and their kindness was truly comforting. Thank you! I can confidently recommend this hotel."
