"Based on what I paid which was close to $150 a night I would have expected more modern room and a better breakfast buffet but otherwise the place was clean with friendly staff and located right on the beach. The step over from the tub shower to the floor is non-standard height (higher than normal) so be prepared if you have shorter legs or mobility issues. "

You need to hire a moped to get around due to the location unless you want to pay the abhorrent excess charges the hotel puts on your taxi fares, from memory to the airport should only cost 700 baht the hotel will charge an extra 400 for this service..
