Awesome place
This place is Set in the sand dunes right on the beach. Nice and peaceful lovely outlook cool House excellent Wi-Fi on TV stereo set up. Anything Elec was a little bit of necessary maybe some cooking oil things like that. Apart from that 10 out of 10.

Great beach location
The property is in an amazing location just over the dune from the beach. Great sunsets with visiting wallabies. It is well equipped, worked well for us on 2 night visit to Freycinet region.

Family Christmas Vaxay
Great 4 day stay for our international global family to hang out, beach and hike from. Pretty well appointed property. The advertised portable bed, however, is not suitable for an adult (or child for that matter). A more comfortable wall hide-a-bed is suggested for the extra person cost. Perfect home for 4 people.

35th Wedding Anniversary
We have stayed here each year to celebrate our anniversary, barring unforeseen incidents, and have thoroughly enjoyed each and every one. This being our 35th Anniversary it was especially nice to have time away in a beautiful location. Thankyou Jason and Rose for making your beautiful home available to us yet again. We only had to bring toiletries and food, everything else was provided. Very relaxing, and the view from the upstairs deck is to die for. We will be booking again as soon as we can. BEAUTIFUL.

Stress Free Break
We have stayed at this property a number of times and always have the same experience. It is home away from home. Everything apart from food is supplied. Thankyou Justin for allowing us again to stay in your beautiful home. We had the best time and will definately be coming back. The view from the balcony upstairs is magnificent and we ate all our meals up there. A treasure on the East Coast.

Dolphin sands
It is in a gorgeous peaceful part of Tasmania with great access to nine miles of pristine sandy beach. The cottage itself is so well equipped for so many people of all ages! We had way more space than we needed as our daughter did not join us in the end. Would love to return.

This beach house is rustic and beautifully setup for a relaxing holiday. It is a short walk to a stunning beach that literally goes for miles. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay there.

Beautiful home in paradise
This place was better than the photos in my opinion. Based on the reviews, I was expecting it to be a bit more rustic. I could imagine living here permanently. Loved the windows *everywhere* with views of the beautiful surroundings. The wood floors, doors and trim everywhere are really nice. Couches downstairs were comfortable and deep (didn't really try the ones upstairs). Plenty of kitchenware, dishes, towels, etc. Internet was good. We were able to watch a movie no problem. Plus, they have a ton of DVDs if you prefer. We walked to the beach easily the first night and enjoyed a stunning sunset. We drove to Freycinet one day which was a reasonable day trip. Vegged out one day and walked around locally. There is a town very close to get food and there is a nice cafe. We only stayed for 3 nights but it was the best rental by far of all our Tassie places. It's a split level so my husband and I had the loft and our 17 and 19 y.o. boys had the room downstairs. Note that it does get quite bright upstairs in the morning, so use an eye mask if you aren't an early riser. The beds are pretty firm but, for whatever reason, I found that to be the case at all rentals in Australia. Note that there is a window in the door to the shower area that is transparent so I hung a beach towel over it for privacy... no biggie. Read the PDF for some other details like using the filtered water for drinking. Highly recommend this relaxing and beautiful home! Hope to stay there again someday.

Getting In
The property was fantastic as always. The only problem we had was trying to use the keys to access the property. The keys provided would not open the doors until we had tried numerous times - possibly due to the locks being corroded since bad weather, or they were not the right keys for the locks. We finally managed after about 10 minutes to access the property but were hesitant to leave unless we knew that we could get back in. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and thouraghly enjoyed our time - as always. We didn't have to bring anything apart from food, but a Dish cloth and a scourer would have been nice - but not essential. I would definitely suggest this for others looking for a great place to stay.

Peaceful, cosy cottage
My husband and I had a fantastic stay at Dolphin Sands in this gorgous, cosy little house. It was in an idyllic setting, surrounded by coastal scrub with a pathway to a lonesome beach. The views to the Hazards are absolutely breathtaking - we got up to watch sunrise and it was stunning! We enjoyed wine and cheese on the deck in the afternoon and then a cosy relax by the fire inside. Absolutely loved it!

Incredible location
Clean, tidy and well-appointed, with incredible views and direct access to a pristine deserted beach with surprisingly warm water. We managed to kayak on the lagoon, hike up Mt Amos in Freycinet NP, have lunch at Devil's Corner Winery and have an ocean swim all in one day. Highly recommended.

We loved the views and the homey feel. However, there were hairs between the sheets and the pillow was dirty, and we had a real issue getting in to the property where the various codes provided (for the padlock on the front gate, and the lockbox with the keys) were incorrect. If you are travelling here I suggest you re-confirm the code numbers with the owner. Given that there was no flexibility on a check in time and we were asked to check out early, this was disappointing.

We had a lovely time at Dolphin Sands. The house is beautiful with amazing views from the upstairs terrace. Beds are comfortable and everything you need is supplied, even beavh towels. There a lots of DVDs and books to entertain you if needed and it's cool to have your private beach access.

A perfect hideaway
We needed to get away from the bustle of the lead up to Christmas and work pressures. What a way to unwind. We loved this special place hiding amongst the sand dunes with a short walk to a wild but beautiful beach. We had everything we needed to cook and eat the food we bought in with us. A unique, quaint and thoughfully set up accommodation that awaits the non-fussy folk, country folk or beachcomber couples or families. Cliche, but true indeed - a home away from home but near the sea. Thank you so much. K and S.

Fantastic 33rd Wedding Anniversary. We couldn't have found anywhere better to stay.
The property was so easy to find. We loved that it was so close to the beach and the Views from the upstairs balcony is to die for. All we needed to bring were clothes and food, everything else, and I mean everything, was supplied. Thankyou for allowing us to stay in your beautiful house.

Our 2nd stay at this property & although the setting continues to astound, this time we found the property fell short on the previous high standard of care & cleanliness; we spent 45mins cleaning. Lightbulbs in bed lamps not working (we replaced), dead flies on windowsills, dirty windows, dusty surfaces; milk frother, some cutlery, china & cookware with food remants. Building materials alongside the house & further down drive (?another house under construction) which is not necessarily a problem; but would have been good to know in advance.

Calm getaway home in the dunes
A beautiful beach house that is clean, stylishly designed & also has the unpretentious comfort of a true family shack. You can hear the waves rolling all day and night and truly beautiful views of the hazards and water. 100% plan to come back again.

Blissfully quiet
This quirky wooden house nestled in the dunes is close to Swansea and has killer views of the Hazards but feels like you’re hidden from the rest of the world. The house is obviously someone’s much loved holiday getaway and as such has everything you could think of. It was a bit chilly when we stayed but the heater and fire were more than adequate to heat up the whole house quickly.

Tassie shack time

Magical Christmas Getaway
Our holiday spent at Dolphin Sands was perfect! Breathtaking views, cozy fireplace, a walk on the beach, cooking gourmet meals in the fully stocked kitchen. Excellent communication with Justin, as well. An overall superb experience!

Lovely tassie beach house
We loved this place: a lovely tassie beach house situated privately in the dunes of Dolphin Sands. On the beach side of the road, so direct access from the house to the beach (30 second stroll), which we mostly had to ourselves. Quiet and peaceful: we listened to the waves at night, whilst warming ourselves by the wood heater. House is very sunny (lots of glass), comfortable and cosy and had everything we needed for our stay. TV’s (multiple) and DVD library present if needed on rainy days. Beds were comfy! The upstairs bedroom and an additional living area is accessed by a spiral staircase (there’s another bedroom on ground floor), which could be a problem for people travelling with small toddlers or those with restricted mobility. But for us it was a really great place to escape the rat race for a while - we will be back...

Sensational private beach get away for the family.
Justin's place was great and his communication brilliant. There were a few dead spiders on arrival that need dealing with I assume from a gap in visitors and the location in the dunes. The kitchen also needed a sponge for washup. But the house is great. Well appointed, well designed and immediate access to the beach. We loved the hot outside shower for the beach return and big clothes line. A real get away with fresh oysters up the road, a good wood pile for cosy nights and springless trampoline for the kids. Go relax and enjoy Dolphin Sands!

Fantastic
We had a magical time at this property. It is a short drive from Swansea and it private and so special. The location is spectacular - right on the beach with breathtaking views. Perfect for one family with a single bathroom and open plan design. Lots of games and activities provided. We didn’t want to leave. If we lived in Tassie we would visit regularly. The fireplace was a bonus as was the trampoline! We used this location as a base to visit Freycinet.

Really cosy (but spacious) property that feels as though it houses many happy memories. Beach access is a total bonus. Kitchen has everything you need and entertainment is sorted with plenty of books, films and games. We really enjoyed our stay.

Very disappointing.
Location was lovely and just where I wanted ( that is what got me up to 2 stars). Cleanliness was a real problem. The house hadn’t been cleaned properly. Biscuit crumbs were scattered on the carpet in the single bedroom, a couple of dead huntsmen spiders were lying next to the fireplace, there was thick dust between the beds in the single bedroom and ants had taken over the house. The ants were everywhere include all through the complimentary tea and coffee- hence non of it was used. This was disappointing given that we had been asked to check in late ( after 3pm) to allow the cleaners enough time ). The bed in he double room is only a double so my 6’ son had his feet hanging over the end of it and the pillows were about 8 inches high and had as rock. Also there are no window coverings in the living area or the bathroom and the bathroom has large windows overlooking the deck - this made my daughter very uncomfortable and she didn’t want to use the bathroom at night incase anyone was outside looking in. It also meant that the TV had full glare on the screen making it impossible to watch. I know prices are high in peak season but I had a look at some other properties while I was there and we definitely paid way over what the property was worth. Unfortunately when I booked I didn’t have a lot of choice. I don’t like leaving this kind of comment publicly as I’d prefer to give the owners a chance to fix the issues but I can’t see anywhere to provide a private comment. Very disappointed.

Thanks for the feedback. Will respond in order. Cleaner clearly had a bad day. Not entirely within our control but we apologise and will accept that as our responsibility. The house is bombed regularly so at least the spiders were dead. This property is semi remote in a raw environment so the ant issue in the middle of summer is not uncommon. Can’t control that unfortunately and it’s unreasonable to think we can. The property is on 2ha and very private and the bathroom windows are partially frosted for privacy. Enough said. You are correct that there are no furnishings in the lounge room, mainly to take advantage of the outlook. There are two living areas and three TVs in the house. The upstairs living area is very comfortable has window furnishings and shaded but you neglected to mention that. It’s the first complaint we’ve had about the pillows in two years of operation and that is a personal preference but thank you we’ll take that on board and provide some alternative options. The price you’ve complained about is very reasonable / comparable to others for that time of year. As you point out it was peak season. And once again thanks for leaving the feedback. You say in your review that you don’t usually do it. But you did.
