The owners couldn't do enough to help, very welcoming, lovely room with a modern bathroom. Excellent location, access to town and local walks. Would stay again.

Liked everything about it. Staff were very friendly and helpfull,breakfast was very good and the room was comfortable . Very nice town centre location and parking nearby in the main town car park(free between 4.30pm and 10am)

Bedroom and bathroom facilities were good and bedclothes and towels were top quality. It was within easy reach of pubs and restaurants with live music and friendly people. Dolgellau has a lot to offer for a couple who break their journey. We loved Ivy House and Margaret was most welcoming.

It is a while since I have stayed in a guest house and it felt somewhat different to a hotel. I was greeted at the door and taken to my room however there was no offer to help with my bags up the narrow steep stairs. The room was well appointed if a little old fashioned, and comfortable. I wasn't too keen on the owner coming in the room with me though he had to later to look at the radiator. I was informed on arrival of breakfast time and also that I had to leave by 10.15 'at the latest' The room was a little chilly but a heater was brought up quickly. There was no blind on the bathroom window and I had no idea where it looked out so this felt a bit awkward. The cleanliness was great and the bed very comfortable. The location was in the town but quiet which was a bonus. Not easy to find a parking spot. Breakfast was served by a young lady, it arrived promptly and was good. I was pleased to see a 5 star hygiene rating. Overall a good experience I would say however I personally am not keen on the rather claustrophobic feel of a guest house as you are staying in the owner's home and it felt like it. It is a good spot for the town centre and for walking or various activities nearby. I was simply meeting friends a 3 minute walk away.
