Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Dolany?
The best area to stay in Dolany is within the village centre itself, specifically near the main square and the surrounding streets.

This area is the heart of Dolany, offering a pleasant and accessible base for exploring the region. You'll find local shops, traditional pubs, and eateries scattered around the main square. The village is compact, making it easy to navigate on foot, and it provides a good sense of local life.

For travellers seeking a relaxing escape with easy access to nature, the village centre is ideal. It's close to hiking and cycling trails that wind through the surrounding forests and along the Bystřice River. This allows for a tranquil stay while still being able to enjoy outdoor activities.

Families will also find this area convenient. Staying in the village centre means you're never far from essential amenities, and there are often local playgrounds or open spaces for children to enjoy.
When is the best time to go to Dolany?
The best time to go to Dolany is during the late spring (May to June) and early autumn (September to October) when the weather is pleasant and the natural beauty of the Olomouc Region is at its peak.

During late spring, the countryside around Dolany comes alive with lush greenery and blooming flowers, making it ideal for outdoor activities like cycling and hiking. The temperatures are comfortably mild, great for exploring the local vineyards and orchards. This period is particularly good for active couples and families who enjoy spending time outdoors without the intense heat of summer.

Early autumn also offers agreeable weather with cooler temperatures and often clear skies, creating excellent conditions for exploring. The changing colours of the leaves add a beautiful backdrop to the landscape, making it a great time for scenic walks and photography. Harvest festivals in the surrounding villages might also be taking place, offering a taste of local culture and produce. This season appeals to those who appreciate a more relaxed pace and the beauty of nature.

While summer (July and August) is also popular, it can be quite warm, especially for those not accustomed to central European summers.
