Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Dhonfanu?
The best area to stay in Dhonfanu is typically within one of the island's luxury resorts, as the island itself is small and primarily dedicated to these private properties.

For those seeking an exclusive and relaxing escape, the resorts on Dhonfanu offer private villas, many with direct beach access or overwater bungalows. These properties are designed to provide everything you need on-site, including multiple dining options, spa facilities, and water sports centres. You'll find yourself surrounded by pristine white sand beaches and crystal-clear waters, great for unwinding.

Couples looking for a romantic getaway will find these resorts particularly appealing. The secluded nature of the villas, often with private plunge pools and stunning ocean views, creates an intimate setting.
When is the best time to go to Dhonfanu?
The best time to go to Dhonfanu is during the dry season, which typically runs from November to April.

This period offers consistent sunshine and calm seas, making it ideal for enjoying all the outdoor activities the Maldives are known for. You'll find less humidity and very little rainfall, ensuring your days are filled with clear skies great for snorkeling, diving, and relaxing on the beach.

Couples looking for a romantic escape will particularly appreciate these months. The idyllic weather creates a great backdrop for sunset cruises, private beach dinners, and simply unwinding together by the ocean without the worry of unexpected downpours.

Families travelling with children will also find the dry season to be the most convenient.
