Devil's Punch Bowl State Natural Area Tours and Activities

When we arrived at our room, we quickly realized that the air-conditioning unit was broken. It was an 85° day or so. After reporting it to the staff, we were quickly upgraded to a nicer room with a better city view (and of course, a working air conditioner) and given a complimentary bottle of champagne without having to ask for an upgrade for our troubles. As someone who is interested in hospitality, I’ve read a lot of books on the subject. From what I understand, this was Ritz-Carlton level service, kindness, and hospitality. Not only did we get the upgrade without asking, but they didn’t seem annoyed or make us feel like we are a burden because of something that was out of our control, which I’ve come to expect from some other stays as a fairly frequent recreational traveler. Sure, it would have been great to not unpack, repack, move rooms, etc., but the service to make up for the issue significantly outweighed the negative aspects. ALSO, the corner room facing east above the archway is a really nice view.

I’ll definitely be back, very nice hotel, staff were very helpful, excellent service. Coffee was great.
