Another great stay at 14 Hands Farm! The property works great for our needs. The communication with Jodi is great! The fresh muffins that were provided at check in were a great hit with the family. Looking forward to our future stays here!
This was a great place to stay for our group of 6 adults. It was incredibly clean and very spacious. It was out in the country and lovely. Jodi left us several treats which was really nice and greatly appreciated!
We really enjoyed this property! Great location. Beautiful surroundings! The upstairs bedrooms were very warm during the day but they cooled off nicely by bedtime! The cookies were a very nice surprise!! Thanks so much!
The house provided us with plenty of room for our stay. We had everything we needed. Jodi was great to communicate with! We were even welcomed to homemade chocolate chip cookies!
Jodi was an exceptional host—quick to respond to our questions and very accommodating to our schedule. Her home was charming, well-maintained, and had a cozy, yet spacious atmosphere. The only minor downside was the limited air-conditioning, but she provided plenty of fans to keep us comfortable. We happened to visit during a hot weekend, so the extra cooling options were appreciated.
We just needed a place for us and our kids and grandson on our way home.
We didn't get to use the kitchen, but there were dishes, spices, everything we could have needed. Even a few snacks.
Clean house.
Comfortable beds. Plenty of pillows and blankets for my crew.
A couple of my daughters thought it was warm upstairs so they slept on the couches. They said they were so comfy too!
Such beautiful grounds.
I loved that we didn't have a long checkout list.
The host was very nice & easy to communicate with! They left us some muffins, let us have 2 extra people than we booked for, even allowed us a late check out. Very understanding! The upstairs gets warm but they have lots of fans. We set up fans by the window AC and up the steps & it cooled off pretty quick. They had everything we needed in the kitchen, lots of towels, & detergents for the washer and dryer, also some outdoor games. Everything was clean. Overall, exactly what we expected & more! Listing is very accurate.
We stayed for a girls getaway weekend and the farmhouse and property were comfortable and private. We appreciated the fact that we didn't have to worry about disturbing anyone with our laughter. The location is rural but close enough to town so we could do some some shopping and dine out if we wanted to. We definitely enjoyed our stay and loved the nostalgia of the farmhouse. Jodi was quick to respond to any questions we had and when asked gave us great suggestions for places to visit/shop. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again.
My family and I were in town for a wedding and had the opportunity to stay at 14 Hands Farm for the night. The host was amazing. We were able to check-in early so that we could get ready at the house and they even left treats for us! We loved the house, loved the property and even made a couple of friends while we were there. The host is fantastic - very kind and very responsive. The only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. This place is fantastic. We hope to stay again sometime!
The host was amazing. Perfect spot for a larger group like we had. It was great to have supplies available if we forgot anything. Cookies were a hit! The only thing that would have increased my rating would be more comfortable beds. Thank you.
Great spot for a quick stay for an 8-man ice fishing trip. Every single fella commented about the nice accommodations. Warm & cozy plus the communication with Jodi was superb. Highly recommended!
Our group of five good friends came to Detroit Lakes to “Troll Hunt” and visit with another group of nine girlfriends at a cabin nearby. The location was excellent for us as it was about halfway between both activities. The Farm House was VERY roomy and perfect for relaxing in the morning and for playing games and visiting in the evenings. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay there! Some of my friends thought they felt “spirits” in the house and one swears she saw a woman rush by her in the bedroom on first floor. (But that particular friend does have a very vivid and active imagination - and maybe had a little too much to drink?!!!) Could use some grab bars for getting in and out of the very high bathtub up stairs, but super nice to have THREE bathrooms!!
I booked Jodi’s place as it was one of the only places I could find in the area for a 4th of July weekend stay. It was a big old farmhouse and looked like it would work well for we two couples with children. My sister in law arrived at the house first and texted me, “Whoa! I LOVE this house!!” My husband and I were equally impressed. It’s so much cuter and better than the pictures! So many antique and original details in the house… so many unexpected little cute nooks and extra rooms. The kids ran through it squealing with delight. I was so happy to find such quality pans, large stainless steel bowls, sharp cutting knives, even a dozen eggs and real butter and fresh cinnamon rolls waiting for us! A huge farmhouse table, soft bath towels, plenty of beds for our group, a washer and dryer we were able to throw our wet swim clothes in and a gorgeous lawn with mature trees and lots of fun places for the kids to run around! The stay was just delightful and we were all talking about booking it again for our next trip to the area! If you have a group, you can’t go wrong with this place! There didn’t seem to be air conditioning upstairs but we opened the windows and were all very comfortable. But I’m not sure how it is on unusually hot days. I’ve stayed lots of places and this is definitely a top favorite!
