Escape on Lake is a recently renovated, family and dog friendly, rental property in the heart of Detroit Lakes. We are within walking distance to the city beach, boat access, park, hospital, hockey arena, and many local restaurants/bars. It is perfect for a family getaway or small gathering of friends, or for traveling employees. 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, access to washer/dryer, fully loaded kitchen, and other basic amenities will make you feel right at home. My parents and I had a wonderful stay during my brother's wedding weekend. The house was perfect for us - exceptionally clean with little comforts that helped us through the busy weekend. Location was great walking distance from the lake and places to eat. 10/10 - would absolutely recommend.

The house was spotless and incredibly well-stocked—everything you’d ever need for a comfortable stay was provided. The decor and furniture was beautiful. A must stay if you’re in DL!

This house was absolutely the cutest! It was so close to the lake and restaurants for our group and was the perfect size for our group of 5! Chris is such an attentive host and responds so quickly if you ever need him and is one of the best hosts I’ve ever worked with! 10/10 would stay here again if I’m needing a place to stay in Detroit Lakes!

Cozy getaway

Chris and Kensie are outstanding hosts. The details in their home were above and beyond what we were expecting for our quick work weekend in Detroit Lakes. The bath salts were my personal favorite after a long day. We were able to bring our pup and after forgetting to bring his dishes, we found a water and food bowl just for our good boy! Great location! Hope to come back for a more fun getaway next time!

This was my second stay at this VRBO and again the owners, Chris and Kensie were great. Their home is beautiful, immaculate and easy to check in. The Pavilion, the lake, restaurants, many shops and clinic/hospital are all within walking distance. I highly recommend this VRBO!!

The house was perfect for our family of 5. The pull out bed was perfect for our son with a disability and we appreciated having everything he needed on the main level. The hosts really go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We appreciated the “little things,” laundry soap, shampoo, etc; Would definitely stay again and share with friends and family.

Great Weekend Getaway

My friend and I stayed at this property over the weekend and surprisingly were able to stay within a 2-block radius the entire time. In one direction you have the lake, beach, and bars/restaurants. In the other direction, you have shops, a cafe, co-op, bookstore, brewery, and restaurants. The house was clean, comfortable, and in a great location. For two women, we felt safe the entire time and had a wonderful stay.

Wonderful Girls Weekend at Escape on Lake!

My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our recent weekend stay at Escape on Lake. We found the home very clean, comfortable and well stocked. The location was perfect for walks down by the lake and very close to downtown for shopping and restaurants. The host was very responsive when a small issue popped up while we were there. Don't hesitate to book this place for your next stay in Detroit Lakes!
