"Very clean. Staff is very nuce"

"Staff was friendly and helpful. Stayed in the 1 bedroom suite. Room was clean and comfortable. The jacuzzi tub was awesome and fits 2 people easily! The furniture was nice enough. The "kitchenette" was largely underwhelming. The suite is located at the end of the hall so very quiet. Good parking for being downtown and a number of plug ins for the vehicle which was a bonus. It was -33 the morning I left so my rig might not have started if it wasn't plugged in. I have stayed in this building over the years under different names and management and give the Sternwheeler a solid 4 stars as of March 2026."

"The property itself was easy to find. Check In was at a bar counter where I was just given a key and pointed in the direction to go, I did check in late. There was nothing in the room with the WiFi password, we were missing a TV remote so we had no way to turn it on, and the room itself had one clean bed and one bed that we couldn’t even sleep in because of the sheer amount of dog hair covering everything. They are working on updating the rooms which is great but the overall cleanliness of the room was way below standard. The one advantage was free breakfast and that more they were very polite. Made them breakfast fresh for us and fueled us for the road! "

"This is an older hotel and shows its age. There is not a lot of parking available, but we were able to find a parking slot each time we came back. It is just a few blocks from both a Tim Horton's and a McDonalds which is very convenient. We requested a queen room, but were upgraded to suite for an unknown reason. The room showed its age as there were stains and signs of wear everywhere. We did have a kitchen, but did not use it as we were only there for two days. However, we probably would have taken advantage of it if we had planned to be there longer. The room was kept very cool during the day, almost bordering on cold (our stay was mid-March). I believe they have floor heating as the floors were warm in the morning and the temperature was comfortable. There were no functioning in-room thermostat. The bed was comfortable though the pillows were lacking. Fortunately there were two additional pillows in the closet which took care of the issue. We were surprised to find none of the expected soap or shampoo in the bathroom, only a few towels and TP were provided. We always carry extras from other hotels that we have stayed at, so we were okay with it. On the other hand, my wife said that it was the best shower that she has ever found at a hotel! I don't know if we were near the water pump, but the water was hot and high pressure which felt like a hot massage when taking a shower! It may not be the first choice, but we would stay here again."

"Clean room and nice staff"

"Not a stay I would ever recommend or stay again. The conditions are deprorable. Awful broken bed, noisy fridge and bathtub in very bad condition. Decided to stay on this hotel because we thought the reviews were a little exaggerated...but no, everything is true. This is an hotel in very poor condition. We were told by a local that this hotel is paid by the government to take homeless people in the winter time, that's all I'm sharing. The only good thing about the hotel is the location. Spend your money someplace else, your back will appreciate it!"

"shoutout Freddy and his espresso, he do need to tamp a bit harder and increase the temp.... but so yummy and shoutout the bald young man and the other guy they were so cool and helped us with whatever we needed and even called my phone when I waited a while and left because the line up for the desk was too long 10/10 service would come back. :D"
