Hotel Gran David
10/10 Excellent
"Big room, beautiful pool, tasty breakfast"

Bambuda Santa Catalina
10/10 Excellent
"This hotel was lovely. Situated on a cliffside with access to a part sand/part rocky beach, it provided a lovely oasis. There was plenty of greenspace to relax and watch the sunset. The pool was refreshing, but often crowded. The restaurant had amazing food, particularly for vegetarians. And prices were very good. The service was a little slow and not clearly organized, but the staff were all kind and helpful when asked. We stayed in a family room which was clean and comfortable, but did not have a balcony. If the opportunity arose, we would happily return to Bambuda Santa Catalina."

Hotel Mykonos Panama
8/10 Good
"Clean and comfortable room, but no fridge.
Nice pool, some tiles need replacement but otherwise good condition.
Parking was crazy because of a conference but they have a big lot.
The restaurant was fantastic and both my kids literally licked their plates.
Coffee shop is independent and said they open at 8, someone showed up around 10. "

Cozy Villa with private pool, 5 min walk to a secluded beach, family friendly
4/10 Poor
"Our only reason for staying in the area was to dive Coiba Island. I really wanted to enjoy our stay at this property choosing to stay away from Santa Catalina which is about 15 minutes away by car. Paying 3x the local going rate in the area, I had high expectations for this property in the middle of nowhere. The red flags started with a lack of check-in instructions, followed by having to meet the owners (which seemed paranoid and unnecessary) at an exact time that had to be specified ahead of time at a padlocked gate that had to be opened and closed every time you wanted to enter or leave the compound. The rolling power outages, poor AC that had to be turned off when leaving the place, ants crawling all over the kitchen, and the bed bugs that tore me up in the downstairs bedroom were the last straw. After being texted for a checkout time while putting our son to bed and being told that 10am was the latest, we decided to get out as quickly as possible. The beach is nothing special, riddled with dead crabs and debris. If you really need to stay in this area, there’s a nice hotel next door with a decent restaurant. "

SurfAsana Lodge
10/10 Excellent
"I spent a week at Surfasana Lodge. It is a unique property on a hill overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Surfasana Lodge is very peaceful surrounded by nature. Mauricio is a chill guy that can answer all your questions about Santa Catalina in general or surfing in particular. He is very interesting to talk with. I thoroughly enjoyed my week at Surfasana. The rooms are very clean and well appointed. If you come to Santa Catalina for surfing or diving, I highly recommend Surfasana Lodge for your accomodations. "
