"There are two things that disappointed me about this hotel. First the lack of cleaning and maintenance in general. Dirty windows and loose taps. Second, they told us that we could use the services and then they charged us an extra 20 dollars that they never notified in advance. I wouldn't go back."

"It was...fine? No stand-out problems; the room was just pretty musty when we got in, and there looked to be quite a bit of mold on the ceiling, and the shower didn't drain well. But for the price, it was pretty good. "

"Staff were friendly and keen to help. Room was bright, clean, bed was comfy, air-conditioning worked. Location was pretty good for Carmelo proper - just off the centre, with easy access for everything from bus station to some of the best food in town. Not so good was the limited front-desk hours which meant having to plan to arrive within a two-hour window. Also the bikes for rent could be in better shape (and not all built for six-foot-tall riders)."

"I had several complications having visitors. I never stayed in a hotel where i would have to pay additionally per visitor, I felt it intrusive to my privacy. The AC didn't work in my room and there was not toilet brush, which was also very uncomfoprtable. The beds are okay, the shower is nice. At the reception desk stands a very present tall statue of a person of colour-servant/hotel-boy. For an 'international' hotel in 2024 to promote such racist imagery is really unpleasant."
