"This was the most pleasant resort either of us have ever been to. The staff was incredibly accommodating and went out of their way to make our stay an absolute pleasure. My wife is vegan and has food allergies. Chef Serini greeted us at every meal and he cooked separate dishes for her at every meal. The food at the restaurants was all delicious and there was plenty of it. But for Sirini to go out of his way and cook something special for my wife at every meal was an incredibly special thing and he was so unbelievably nice and also excited that he could try new stuff for her. Our plane was met at the arrival area and we were greeted by staff with music and a drink. Our host then brought us to our villa which was air conditioned, over the water and had a plunge pool with amazing views of the ocean. The resort itself is smaller but big enough to make you feel like you have a lot of privacy and space to be on your own. The staff at all the restaurants, the cleaning crew, and all the rest of the staff were super nice and treated us like royalty. I can’t complement the resort enough. If you go to the Maldives, give yourself the best gift you can and stay at Movenpick "

"Everything at the resort surpassed our expectation. We stayed in one of the over-water sunrise rooms and snorkeled off our back deck 3 times per day. Massive schools of fish, nurse sharks, sting rays all within 30 feet of our room. We also took a separate snorkel trip to a nearby island which was also spectacular. The room, bathroom and the completely-private-deck were all huge. We also checked out the other beachside rooms which also looked great. Meals and service in the main restaurant and the two specialty restaurants were fantastic. The general manager meets each arrival group and also stopped by to talk/check in periodically during our stay. Don't be put off by the need to take a sea plane to reach the resort. While it's an added cost, it was a great part of the overall experience - flying over the many atolls on the trip in and out was gorgeous and added an adventure/remoteness element. The beach cruiser bikes that come with each room also added to the fun. Lastly we thought the staff was terrific. Just the right mix of providing all the attention needed without being intrusive. We felt very fortunate to have chosen the Fairmont."

"Mind blown! There are 5 star premium all inclusive resorts and then there is Emerald Faarufushi. I have incredibly high standards which were met and exceeded by the amazing diverse team at Faarufushi. I have been to the Maldives before so from experience, I knew it was wise to split my stay between the water villa and a beach villa. You get a dedicated villa host for your entire stay. Mine was the very attentive Mr. Vikas who took care of every need, villas are serviced multiple times a day, very abundantly stocked mini bar refilled daily. I honestly couldn’t consume one day’s worth of refreshments because of the abundant offerings around the various resort restaurants and bars. I spent 2 nights on a sunset water villa and 1 on a sunrise beach villa. Perfect decision on my part and I highly recommend a split stay. Special thanks to Chef Sudarshan at Teppanyaki for an amazing presentation, Moreno at Aqua for the best carbonara I have ever had (he made it in 10mins), Kim and Alim at Carnivorous. Also Shimau, Rohit, Afrah, Mohammed, Ahmed.. Just too many to name. I highly recommend Emerald Faarufushi "
