"I booked 2 nights. I arrived late and tired and the staff was very nice. However, they asked for a CASH deposit. I said I don't have cash but you can process the deposit on my credit card. They responded, it's okay we accept USD. I said I am very sorry I do not have cash. They said okay, leave your passport and tomorrow you can pay in cash. As any seasoned traveler knows, you NEVER leave your passport for any kind of deposit. I politely said, I can't do that but I can leave you my ID. ID is still very important and the attendant accepted my ID as a form of deposit and said, okay and tomorrow you can pay the deposit in cash. Why be so overly persistent for a CASH deposit for a 2 night stay or any length of time? A credit card hold is a solid form of payment. This interaction was very disappointing but in the end, I they accepted my ID as of form of deposit. I would stay again but this CASH deposit is a SHADY practice."
