The the hotel we stayed out my phone got stolen and my meds and the room person was just about to get my ring before we left we will never go back to the same hotel it cost me $400 when we got home just to get a new phone

Needs updating
Run down room. Not many working lights. Bathroom faucet was broken. Furniture is beat up. Foot stool had a broken leg so when you sit down it tipped over. Check in was slow. Key card machine wasn’t working so we were manually let in our room and not given keys. We were attending a concert and told if we weren’t back by 1 no one would be there to give us a key for our room. We were given a very confusing map of area with parking spaces crossed out and told we would be towed if we parked in certain areas of the parking lot. Luckily we must have picked an ok spot and weren’t towed. Not worth the $.

I liked this property because it had a full kitchen and living area. The bathroom was big and had a vanity area which was nice to do my makeup. overall I loved this stay and will be coming back since I visit Iowa a lot.

Suites are very dated ,could use an upgrade for shure .old rugs in area .bathroom also quite old ,could use some work. T v channels are minimal. Mounting of tv on end of wall is a hazard walking by it ,it is a hazard

Stay here, enjoy the fire! A+
We LOVED this hotel! We loved Mario at the front desk. We loved the kitchen with an oven! We especially loved the fireplace and got two logs for under $20 at the front desk. The swivel TV was so convenient for use at any angle of the suite. The bed was sooo comfortable. I only wish we’d stayed longer. Great value as well. We loved the Sterling!

Don’t stay here! Over priced and in terrible condi
The room that we had was extremely in poor condition. The door knob in the bathroom was hanging by screw. The woodwork was peeling. The Naugahyde covering on the bar chairs was peeling and in some spots had just come off and theChair in the living room was cracked. We didn’t want to touch anything.

We were told the property had just been renovated. If this is the case, it was done extremely cheaply. The lock on the door was loose and sloppy, the paint looked like white primer and the bathroom needs a re-do. Also, the parking lot had fallen trees/tree branches everywhere. There was a storm a week prior, but one would think a business would clean up the area that customers park. The staff was incredibly friendly! They were fantastic.

Great suite at an excellent rate
What an exceptional value. A, very clean king suite with a great bed, a sitting area with a fireplace and a kitchen with full frig, stove, etc and some dishes for a great price. We were worried the pictures were better than the the room would actually be but it way exceeded our expectations. The only negative was that no breakfast was available at least for now but we knew that when we made the reservations and a number of places are with blocks of the hotel.

Unclean room- not as pictured - Rosie is RUDE
The room we booked was not the room we checked into .. not cleaned - toilet seat was dirty , outlet in the middle of the floor. Had to buy firewood if you wanted to use fireplace. (Good to know) The housekeeper Rosie was so rude. Called to have her switch my room and speak to manager she never showed up- and then yelled at me in front of the Manager . He was nice but my stay was unpleasant and so was Rosie. Very dated carpet and furniture, WiFi wasn’t great/ the worker that did come and help me move into other room was very helpful and showed me several !! All in all thank you to the kind woman last night that understood my frustration and Jose, but Rosie needs wrote up or terminated. You should not work in customer service if you are unfriendly and unwilling to serve customers.

Ok place, but blood visible throughout room

Property was okay. Furniture in room was kind of worn down, looked a little old. Cleanliness was again just okay. Biggest issue I had was that there was a large, dead bug on the molding towards the ceiling in the sitting area. Big enough that I'm not sure how housekeeping could have missed it. Won't go out of my way to stay here again, but it works if you need a cheap place to stay for the night.

I struggled with what to write. The staff was awesome. They were friendly helpful and just really really top notch. The room we had was in poor shape. Carpet had huge runs it, the coffee table was broken and patched together, we had some box elder bugs that loved company. However, the beds were amazing and it was pretty clean. And again the staff were awesome.

Spiders in the bathroom.
The property was run down and could use a good paint job in the rooms and the bathroom updated. For some reason our bathroom had several daddy long leg spiders.

Our hotel was wonderful. Service was wonderful. Clerk made sure where we should park and that there was a light and camera in view of us and our vehicle. The only down fall was that the refrigerator was running land sounded like a vaccum.

Horrible Service
We checked into Sterling Hotel because our sewer backed up at our house and we needed somewhere to spend the night because we had no water at our home. I told them this when I checked in. The rooms are all old, but usually very clean. This room looked like it hadn't been updated in years. When we went to take showers in the morning, the shower was broken. We called the front desk to see if someone could come help us and we were told "can't do anything til 8:30" and then the woman hung up on us. The shower fixtures were also all loose. We've stayed here a couple times before, but we will not be staying again.

Slept well but not a feel good place to stay!
Was excited for the price vs the pictures shown for this place. Seemed like an amazing deal. Yeah, clearly too good to be true! Either the pictures on the website are from a decade ago or from a updated unit because our studio suite was looking quite beat up. Stains on the floor and sheets, rips in the bedding, paint chipping away on the walls, discolored fixtures in the bathroom/shower area. When you walked in the musky old smell hit you in the face. We had a spider in our tub and a LIVE wasp on our couch. The kitchenware even didn't seem clean even though there was a dishwasher in unit so we didn't end up using the kitchen at all. The only thing that kept us from running away and not staying our second night was that we did sleep well on the beds. They were very soft and broken in. LOL As long as we were only there to sleep we were fine.
