It’s been very difficult to oversee the bad from the good because of our experience with Candlewood Suites. My family and I had planned to celebrate a week in Colorado for my son‘s graduation. We made reservations with Candlewood on May 5 for our June 11 arrival time. On our way to the hotel, after a long 13 hour drive with our children and two dogs in the car, and with only 2.5 hours remaining to the hotel, we had received a call from a staff named Serena who stated that she had noticed that we had a reservation but our room was sold out and that we needed to go to another hotel across the street. Frustrated and very worried that we wouldn’t be able to find a last minute stay, and after many phone calls with Candlewood and other hotels in an attempt to make a last minute reservation with spotty cell phone signal, we had to demand that Candlewood find our family an equivalent room elsewhere before our arrival. In the end, Candlewood managed to allocate a room for us at another hotel, which resulted in a higher room rate cost than at Candlewood, but at that point we were just relieved to have found a place for our family. We ended up staying at Staybridge Suites and our experience was positive. Unfortunately, our initial bad experience with Candlewood overshadowed our initial days in Colorado. Thank you Staybridge Suites for accommodating our last minute needs!
