The staff were friendly and helpful. The meals provided were good. Alpine Creek Lodge was not what we expected. It was not clearly stated in the description about its proximity to Denali National Park, which was over 100 miles away. Additionally, it didn't note that we had to share a bathroom. The location is very remote and beautiful. It just wasn't what we were looking for at the time.
A rare gem in the middle of breathtaking wilderness with stunning views. The staff ensure your comfort and have most things you need. They promptly accommodated our late check-in at midnight.
The property has an in house bar with a view.
They were very friendly. There was a nice bookshelf with interesting books and my friend was able to identify a bird she had seen that day with a book about Alaskan birds. We went on a hike up to a beautiful alpine lake; the hike started right from the parking lot behind the lodge. The view from the lodge was spectacular: a giant river valley, tundra, black spruce forests and mountains, lakes. The rooms are very nice.
The lodge serves good food for dinner and breakfast, but keep in mind that there are no stores around here. In nearby towns such as Glennallen and Cantwell there are not well stocked grocery stores. It is a good idea to stock up on food for lunches in Valdez, or at Cubby's south of the Spur highway to Talkeetna. Of course, the remoteness is part of the charm of Alpine Creek Lodge!
Nice one-night stay with family of four along Denali highway. Stunning location and views, homey feel, lots of games to play with the kids. We really enjoyed the hike that starts just behind the property.
While the view was pretty, there seemed to be a lot of property maintenance and a huge amount of dust. As the manager had two dogs, one of which was not friendly and growled at my daughter and begged from the table.

Hunting Lodge with view in NOWHERE
Warning: This is more of a guys trip hunting lodge place and if you use Google maps/phone you’ll be lost by 1.5 hours as it’s closer to Paxon than Cantwell. Glad we eventually found it the drive across Denali Hwy was amazing. But the mosquitos will eat you alive and my daughter welted up from spider bites.
