Milwaukee Road House (New) Historic Deer Lodge

This recently updated 4 Bed 1 Bath home sits in the heart of the Deer Lodge Valley. This home is within walking distance to Museums, Historic Montana State Prison Ghost Tours, Cutler Brothers Theatre, Grant Kohrs Ranch & Grocery store. It is an easy drive to Philipsburg, Discovery Ski Area, Butte & just 25 minutes to Fairmont Hot Springs. This is also a great stopping point between Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks.
The space
Our home offers comfort and privacy for groups that may need a little space. The kitchen is fully furnished if you would like to cook in. The living area is equipped with a large cozy couch and INTERNET TV with Netflix and Hulu or feel free to log in to your own Accounts and continue watching your favorite shows.

Lovely Place to Stay

It was wonderful. All of us loved the old charm this house had. It was very homey and close to our location, with plenty of room for everyone.I hope to have the chance to stay again if I'm ever up that way.

We stayed here to go on the Haunted Prison Tour! It was a great location for that. The place was clean and inviting. Would stay there again.

Nice place. Clean and well stocked. Only spent a night there. Scary to be on the road and not have information- such as address and access code. Difficulty getting information through website. Finally, someone at vrbo was able to help us out during our road trip.

Convenient and roomy!

We were visiting several items of interest in the area and wanted a central location to stay. This home in Deer Lodge was perfect and provided ample room to hang out and feel more at home than a hotel room. The property is well maintained and has an updated modern look!

Rest and relaxation!

We had a great stay in Deer Lodge. Stopped here with my family as a half way point coming from Glacier NP, going to Yellowstone NP. Was just what we needed. We were pulling a 24 ft travel trailer and there is plenty of parking. Had all the amenities we needed.

Beautiful home!

This was a work trip. I was very comfortable in this clean and remodeled home. So close to the main street and could walk anywhere. I'll be back again and recommend this property to other coworkers. Thank you!

We just stayed here for one night but it was a great house! Comfortable for two adults and three teens. The upstairs is a bit hot in the summer weather but the kids weathered it fine.

Newly remodeled, very comfortable place to stay

The house was a nice clean place to stay. It had two queen size beds in separate bedrooms and two twin beds. The beds were extremely comfortable with fresh bedding. The sectional couch in the living room was also very comfortable. The kitchen had all the supplies I needed. The entire house was clean from top to bottom. The host was very friendly and answered my questions promptly. The location was perfect one block off of Main Street. I will definitely be staying here again, maybe next time with more of my family members. This house deserves a five-star review. Thank you for sharing your home with me

Better than the photos!

My husband and i along with our daughter, son in law and 4 yo grandson were visiting the area and needed a comfortable and affordable home base for the week. We found that and more with this listing. We expected a bare-bones with only minimal furnishings house but what we got was a historical, very cute cottage that had all of the necessities and comfort to make our visit very enjoyable. It is within walking distance of a small grocery store and food options. The historical prison is one block from the house and visible from the front porch. The beds were very comfortable and the house was quiet. While we were there we ate Prison Pizza and 4Bs diner, both of which were great! The people we interacted with in town were very friendly. If our plan had included more time in Deer Lodge we would have liked our heads into the antique shop as well.

Remarkable home

This was our first time ever staying somewhere else besides a hotel. And this house has officially ruined hotel staying for us. It was very clean, provided all the essentials you needed. Was very close to a grocery store literally within walking distance. While there it snowed, and the sidewalk was shoveled. The pictures do this house no justice. Its very beautiful and if ever traveling to Deer Lodge Montana again. We will definitely rent this. The kids loved getting to sleep upstairs and especially loved playing hide and seek in the "harry potter room". The little cupboard under the stairs.

Quick stop on the way through

This property worked out very well for my family. The property was exactly as pictured. My kids enjoyed the upstairs bedrooms with the slanted roof that made them feel cozy. Parking available directly in front of the house helped with loading and unloading our bags. The only thing slightly overwhelming on initial look — but really wasn’t too bad in the end — was the 12-step “End of Stay Cleaning and Checklist for Our Guests.” Despite the long checklist, we really liked this place and would stay here again ourselves. Additional perks: There is a family-run grocery store the next parking lot over, so if you need any quick items during your day, this is convenient. Only a four minute walk up the street is the “Kaffeination Station” that had delicious breakfast and coffee. (They also have lunch, but we only ate their breakfast.)
