"The hotel is all updated. The room was comfortable, clean, and spacious. Our suite had access to the upper deck for viewing the sunset and the stars. The layout and furniture worked well for us (three people) and could have handled more very easily. Right across the road the Jolly Roger restaurant is also newly renovated and had really good dinners and drinks - and also another great place to watch the sunset over the Silver Lake harbor. We had fish tacos one night and (local) shrimp tacos the next. The restaurant was also able to give us good gluten free options. Besides the room and nearby restaurant, we hotel provided access to bicycles, beach chairs, drinks and sundries, and ice! For Ocracoke in mid-August these were all very useful. The staff was courteous and helpful. We expect to be back next summer!"

"Blackbeard’s Lodge is full of charm. The bed was comfortable. The room was small and cozy. Nice hot shower with good water pressure. There was fresh coffee in the lobby in the morning. The host Cynthia was very nice and helpful. The location is convenient to restaurants, the beach and shopping. Definitely would stay again."

"This was a lovely, quaint spot walkable to everything! Perfect for us two and our dog. I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was being right off the main road and nestled behind two busy restaurants. It had been very rainy before we visited which meant some standing water under the back deck and that meant mosquitoes - so we didn’t really get to enjoy the awesome deck. And while charming, there are feral cats on the island - so we ended up not using the enclosed, fenced yard for our dog (if you travel with pets). We had a couple sweet cats that hung around the property and liked to hide under the house and lounge on the deck fence. The house was very clean, the kitchen had plenty pots/pans, and the living spaces very comfortable. Would 100% stay here again! Thank you for having us!"
