Several outlets did not work the lights between the beds wasn’t working the bulbs were unscrewed to turn off and on room was only cleaned once during 3 day stay. The breakfast was extremely linited

This hotel is lovely. The room was super clean. The bed was amazingly soft. It is centrally located to multiple attractions in the area. The hotel was quiet. I definitely wnjoyed staying here.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Wenhad troubles with locking our door and everything was a bit outdated / run down. We were looking forward to enjoying the pool area, but it looked so uninviting we decided not to use it. There aren't many hotel choices in De Smet, so it was OK for 1 night.

Perfect location for visiting the Ingalls Homestead. The breakfast was good…kids had the waffles so they were happy. We enjoyed the pool…it wasn’t huge but it was ideal for us. The room was a good sized family room with plenty of space.

After a 6 hour road trip with our two cousin 12-year old grandsons, we arrived at the DeSmet motel. We were upgraded to a room with two beds and TVs separated by lavatory and twin sinks. Perfect!! The following morning, the complimentary hot buffet fortified us for a day’s exhibition of frontier skills at Laura Ingalls Wilder’s homestead and museum.

Super deluxe inn was very easy to find, friendly staff, clean and comfortable. There were a lot of carbohydrate choices for breakfast. Every thing was neat and organized. I would have given a 5 star review but the mattress was too soft for me, I was tossing and turning all night trying to get comfortable.

There are few if any other options than this hotel in De Smet. It was clean and conveniently located in the center of everything Laura Ingalls Wilder. The scam was the listing claiming they provided breakfast. Only carbs, with old hard biscuits, sausage gravy dumped out from a can into a crock pot that was barely warm after two hours. They had hard boiled eggs that were very old with dark green yokes. No one staying ate it. The owner could be seen in a room behind the front desk and he was in bed until well after 8:00. Everything else was fine but don't count on an edible breakfast.
