Property located on East side of the Lake. Deruyter Lake is located in Central New York. House is on a private lot that has direct waterfront access. Dock is about 4' deep and can easily accommodate boats up to 24' . Lake house is around 2400 sq ft, has 2.5 baths, 3 large bedrooms which sleeps 10-12 max. House has new updates with wifi, cable and laundry on site. Private off street parking with garage if needed.

Beautiful lake vacation

This home on Lake DeRuyter was perfect for our extended family vacation. The house was equipped with all our needs. The owner was responsive with questions. The dock was perfect for fishing and swimming was great as weeds were well controlled. The property is dog friendly as well, which made this vacation even better. Will definitely stay again!

Beautiful lake and spacious house!

The house was spacious and accommodated my family of 6 well. It was very clean and we really enjoyed the dock by the lake. The owner was very kind and we will definitely stay here again!

Love this lake house!

This is our third year staying at Marc’s lake house and we absolutely love it there! Beautiful house and beautiful lake. So many wonderful memories made there.

Great low key lake house

We had 2 families, 5 kids and 4 adults altogether, and had a lovely time. The house is tidy has a nice view of the lake from the east side. The kitchen has almost everything you need. The bedrooms are perfect for 2 families with kids.

Water was clean and clear. Dock and fire pit can be seen from the kitchen. Owner was nearby and quick to respond to questions. A pleasant week there.

Simply WOW!

We have rented a few homes over the years and this is definitely our number 1! The owner responds right away and goes above and beyond to insure your stay is spectacular. The place is absolutely gorgeous as well as the view. Even all the locals we met were beyond helpful and so nice. This will definitely be a repeat vacation for our family ! Mark thank you so very much for allowing us to share in this amazing place and cant wait to visit again this summer!

Great Lake House

Beautiful views and very comfortable house. Nice kitchen, great room and comfy beds. No complaints. I enjoyed walking around the houses and lake in the morning. Great fall location. We escaped SU family weekend and stayed here. Would do it again. Note that the fireplace is not usable.

Easy to find, pretty accommodating

The owner was responsive to questions and I privately messaged him our concerns about the property's lack of cleanliness and some broken items that I hope he will address before the next person stays. He says he uses a maid service so obviously those issues start with them. The listing is slightly misleading as it says it sleeps 10, but there are 2 bedrooms that have 1 king bed in each and a 3rd bedroom that has 2 twin over full beds. We were fine cosleeping with our littles but if you want your own sleep space, consider bringing an air mattress. Otherwise, the furniture was comfortable, the place was kid friendly, and the house was easy to find from the road. It was centrally located to all of the places we were visiting so that was very convenient.

Incredible Value

The owner of this property couldn’t have been more accommodating! Due to flight challenges we arrived at the property @ 11pm. The owner stayed in communication w/us during our long drive from the airport, went out to the property to turn on lights even took a picture of the front steps & sent it to us. He gave us detailed instructions to find the house in the dark The roads in that area don’t have lights & we wouldn’t have been able to find the house easily had he not. The house itself is an incredible bargain for the $, the lake view beautiful, the neighborhood peaceful. The mattress on the bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept on. Our visit was for my daughter’s graduation. She had challenges packing & we ended up needing a late check out. Again the owner couldn’t have been more accommodating. On a scale of 1 to 5, I give the property a 10.

The stay was okay not worth the cost to rent

This house is just ok. Check in was easy the house was clean but needed quite a bit of tlc. It was obvious that this house was remodeled years ago and has since just been rented out and minimal upkeep. Our first night we had no ac because there were no remotes for the ac the owner controlled them from his phone. We messaged him and he did come over the next afternoon to give us a remote so we could have ac. Also the first night we had no power downstairs called the owner and I had to reset the breakers for it. Also upon arrival we noticed that the dock was not in the water and we brought a boat from an hour and a half away to use it and couldn't. The owner did put the dock in on our 6th day so we could use the dock for 1 and a half days. The big deck down on the water has many rotten boards that makes it dangerous for dogs and family members. On the last day we woke up to no wifi in the house which is unacceptable because the signal in the area is terrible. Overall the owner is very nice and tries to do his best and is very responsive but in the end this was our worst vrbo yet.

Beautiful home on the lake

This place is beautiful but we did have a few hiccups during our stay there. The first issue to arise is the code to get in (which I was told after booking would be the last 4 of my phone number) didn’t work. The owner messaged me back quickly and gave a different code, which made us feel a little uneasy, like was this the last four of the people that stayed here prior to us or what, either way felt a little unsafe. We then went to go to bed on our first night and noticed that BOTH of the sliding glass doors did not lock, which again, made it a little hard to sleep the first night. Someone did stop by to fix the doors the following morning, which we were super thankful for. Some of the items in the cupboard, like the creamer for the coffee expired years ago. There was also a half eaten pint of ice cream from earlier that month that was in the freezer, and cottage cheese in the fridge making it look as though it hadn’t been cleaned properly. The dishwasher was full of dishes so when we left we rinsed everything and left our dishes in the sink. The oven door is also broken, so you HAVE to lock it (it gets super hot so make sure to use a towel when unlocking it after cooking) if you want it to stay closed while cooking. The fridge water/ice also didn’t work, which should be noted because my dog got very sick from drinking the well water, so make sure to bring bottled water with you. Also note the TV doesn’t have streaming capabilities so if you want to stream you’ll want to bring an HDMI cable or something to do that with. This house is beautiful and the view was even better but I would be hesitant to stay again just with the issues that arose during our few days there. Location is also perfect, just a short drive to multiple places! The owner was super quick to get back to me as issues arose but like I said, it just seemed to be one thing after another.

Nice house, beautiful lake location

This was our third year spending a week at this house; it is a nice house on a beautiful lake. We liked the fire pit, the deck and dock furniture, laundry, and master suite. This year we were very glad that Marc did some much needed upgrades and repairs. The lake is great for kayaking and there are fun sites and activities to do nearby.

This should be a 4 star rental if

I emailed owner prior to renting to ensure that his dock would accommodate our 20 ft boat. When we got there, the dock was in the weeds and broken. Owner should have known his dock was unusable. He was kind enough to let us use his fathers dock 5 camps down. Also, owner rented to people with a liter of puppies. Entrance and rug leading up to master smelled of animal urine. 4 stars if owner can fix his dock and clean home better.

Heaven

The reason for our trip was to visit family members and go to my Aunt's 80th birthday party. The property was absolutely beautiful. We checked in late about 930 or 10 and it was cold in the house but I sent Marc a text message and he fixed it within minutes. Any questions or concerns I had Marc was on it. It did not matter what time it was. We plan on renting again in August 2023. I would recommend this booking to anyone.

Nice big house for family

Large 3 level very nice house. Many levels with stairs inside and out. Everything needed in kitchen. Landlord quickly solved heat problem in beginning. Boiler had gone out due to power outage. Sledded on hill next to house, ice skated on lake, kids learned about ice fishing. Ping pong table was a bonus. Nice family space. Very clean.

The physical accommodations and location on the lake were very good. Over 7 days I made 8 requests for more heat. Although the owner usually responded promptly and the heat increased, the result was short lived. Mid-week at 9AM I reported that the temp. was 61 degrees throughout. On Fri., 7:30 AM I reported 56 degrees downstairs ( 2 bedrooms, bath and game room ) 61 degrees main floor ( kitchen, dining, living and 1/2 bath ) an 63 upstairs ( bedroom and bath ). The heat is controlled remotely by the landlord, although he responded in the short term, he never seemed to get the message.
