GORGEOUS Historic House!
My friends and I stayed here over a long weekend for a wedding in Davenport, and we had the best time. The house is super cute, quaint, and quiet. Dane came right to our rescue when the front door lock wouldn't budge; he came over in less than five minutes and fixed it for us! He is the best. He graciously gave us a tour of the mansion and I cannot sing his praises enough. One of our friends slept on the sectional downstairs, and it is perfect for someone wanting their own room, complete with room darkening shades. Thank you, Dane, for being so hospitable and kind to us!!

House was good 3complaints, 1person took bath, and downstairs in kitchen ceiling been patched badly, and was a puddle water on floor, ceiling didnt get wet, but if a line is it can come from walls or baseboards, so reat of us declined bathing for 2days affraid falling thru. Movie room the projector has what looks be roach stuck in it, taken 1/2 wall screen. They shape gives it away. Door lock we got in fine, couldnt lock leaven house so after having put granddaughter thru a window, we had leave side door unlocked and go thru yard not maintained with down tree side house n limbs. Just old home needs better care, disapointment truly family in contracting first house thru here more likely for price be last, neighbor hood was Sad n saturday night kinda street full at corneŕ house n cars in n out with the noise . Coming back to iowa in month be regular thing see granddaughter. So hope find one that can come to regularly..

I'm sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay! We reach out when you book to let you know that we're available for any questions or concerns because the last thing we want is anyone to have a bad experience while visiting the QCA. We are less than 5 minutes away and would have come to address any issues, especially not being able to access the door. Our renters who stayed the weekend after you contacted us about the door lock being inconsistent, and we came right over and took care of the problem. The plumbing does not leak, with it being a claw foot tub, if the curtain is pushed out of the tub then water will leak, unfortunately that is what has caused the damage in the past. There is absolutely no risk of anyone falling through the floor. We have never seen a roach at our property. We do spray to be proactive since we are right next to a wooded area. That wooded area next to our property does have a tree that came down in the storms this spring. Again, we apologize that you didn't enjoy your stay.

The house is quaint, but needs a good Spring Cleaning. Recycle bin outdoors was full, and closet light was burned out. Beds could use matress pads, as sleeping on sheets covering the plastic bed protector leaves one sweating all night.

Good house in a good location
We really enjoyed the projector TV and being a short walk from the river and a local coffee shop (Java Java Cafe). We had pretty much everything we needed in the kitchen for cooking. I wish the bathroom door would have closed. It seemed like it was a little too long for the door frame. I could have messaged the landlord, but it didn't bother us too much as it was just family staying there. The host had good communication with us while we were there. We had a good time. Thanks!

Great Stay!
We had a great stay at the cottage. There were plenty of supplies for cooking. The movie room was wonderful! Location was good. Definitely have a bit of a walk to go anywhere but a short, short drive. So either way it was nice! The lock on the front door was a little tricky until we figured out the secret. Pull the handle towards you when it is trying to unlock. It helps the lock catch! I would definitely stay here again!

Overall the house fit our needs. We had a group in town for state bowling. I wish the only bathroom was advertised as upstairs if we had someone that was disabled they would not have been able to use the restroom. The one bedroom up stairs does not have heat so winter stayers beware. The floors are not level and very soft in some spots so we had to watch where we were walking. Parking in the back was ok but out front of the house you couldn’t part as we were told, due to the street being so narrow. Otherwise not to bad

What a charming home

Great location, close to everything. Loved the two living rooms. The only critique was the bathroom (the door doesn’t shut all the way and the shower curtains weirdly invade the bath space). Otherwise, we loved our stay!

Wonderful Stay in the Midwest
My extended family of 8 (infant to 70s) stayed in the Renwick Guest House right before July 4th for 4 days. Our experience was very positive, hosts were the best in terms of communication and special favors. We couldn’t ask for a better experience. The grounds surrounding the cottage and neighboring properties are like a big park, very pleasant for strolling and being outdoors. Parking is very convenient (we parked in the Mansion lot, not on the street other than for loading and unloading). It should be noted that the property is not for those in wheelchairs or for those who have difficulty with walking on uneven ground. The narrow and twisty stairway is perhaps not for everyone. However, these features added to our experience—did not detract from it. My family experienced a wonderful and memorable stay.

Girls annual weekend
My 4 daughters and daughter I law have an annual trading of a weekend together every year. The house we stayed in was very nice. It was kept up nicely and everything we needed was there. Restaurants and shops close by. It would be nice to have a night light in the upstairs hallway to help guide us back from the bathroom. Great property with history I’m sure!

Quick Overnight Stay
We had a friendsgiving in QC but many of us were coming from out of town, so we needed some overflow sleeping quarters. The guest house at Renwick was exactly what we needed! We unfortunately didn't get to take advantage of the projector room setup, but will definitely remember this spot for next time. Thank you!

Wonderful experience!
We had a wonderful 2 night stay. There were 5 adults in our group. Our favorite things were morning coffee on the balcony off the kitchen and watching movies in the projection room. We stayed over a Friday/Saturday and went to the Farmers Market Saturday morning.

My wife and I just finished a 2 night stay this morning. Location was exactly what we hoped for. Communication with host was excellent. We parked in the back driveway area overnight as we weren't sure of the overnight street parking regulations. Air conditioning worked great. If you have an infirmity the shower/tub combo in upstairs bathroom could present difficulties but my wife and I are both 69 years old and it was fine. Enjoy Davenport.

Parking in front of the house felt cramped and unsafe, the street is not wide enough for street parking and cars fly up and down the street. Parking around back was unclear and required walking through the side yard up and down a hill difficult for my smaller children. Water pressure and temperature in the shower was nonexistent, and the shower curtain didn’t fully encircle the tub. The house very clearly has rodents. You can hear them running in the walls at night. Would have left if we weren’t told we would receive no refund for our stay. Would not recommend this space.

Exactly Right for Wedding Weekend
We were in Davenport for the first time to attend a family wedding. Three of us were coming for Missouri and two others were traveling from Michigan. This house fit our needs perfectly! It not only allowed us to spend time together as a family but provided excellent access to the sights of the town. The family room with the projection TV was ideal for watching movies and visiting, and the younger adults enjoyed playing the games the hosts provided. Thank you for a weekend full of charm!

Wonderful Stay and Wonderful Hosts
We were 3 adult friends visiting Davenport for 4 days for the High A baseball games at Modern Woodman Park. The hosts are quick and detailed with responses and the property was just as depicted in the pictures. Very comfortable furniture - lots of space. We parked on the street directly outside the front door - very convenient. Quiet street. Beds are comfortable. Good bedding. One full bath with a claw foot tub and shower head. Projector room is very fun and the TV equipment is easy to use - instructions provided are easy to follow. Air conditioning worked very well and it was high 90’s during our stay. Towels and amenities were great. Two comments to consider - the staircase is old, steep and narrow. Not a problem for us but it could be. The claw foot tub requires a step up to get in - if you’re unstable on your feet, that may be a problem. Don’t hesitate to book this property.

We loved staying here. There is plenty of room to spread out. Our son was married the weekend following our stay and we had baking to do for the wedding. It worked out perfectly! Close to the river and the east village. We would most certainly stay again!!

Perfect Spot for our Time
This was a perfect space for us as we needed 3 bedrooms & some space to hang while we were at a conference in Davenport. My daughter enjoyed the projector to watch movies and we all enjoyed it for the Celtics / Warriors game. The hosts’ instruction for parking were easy to follow. The hosts were great to work with. Neighborhood was a little older than anticipated but it was fine. Would stay here again when in town!

Place was recently refurbished and they did a great job. Movie room was a hit, kitchen was well equipped, and the bedrooms were very comfortable. My family of 7 stayed there and we had plenty of space. Dane and Sarah were outstanding hosts and responded very quickly when we had questions. Highly recommended!

Amazing Stay at Renwick Guest House
We had our teenage and adult children stay at this property and they absolutely loved the stay and attention to detail. The projector screens were a nice touch and added a fun element to their stay. Would definitely stay here again!

Dane was very helpful and attentive. The coffee pot had some issues and Dane brought over his personal one for us to use over the weekend. Also mentioned a couple of coffee places in the area to try. The neighborhood was nice. My family went for a walk and felt safe.

Perfect fit
This place was perfect for our family of 5 to spend a night in Davenport. It is right by the river. Hosts were super friendly. Gave us ideas on where to eat and what we could do . We lucked out that there was a comedy stand up show the night we were in town at the Renwick Mansion, which the hosts also own. It was a 3 min walk to the show! If you are attending a show or wedding at Renwick mansion then this a perfect place to stay
