Perfect retreat

What a wonderful hotel. The room was very comfy with great shower and all the facilities needed. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful, with a fantastic pool, jacuzzi and sauna. The restaurant was excellent especially the service, such a lovely woman looked after us. An amazing place to stay

Clean and Quiet

Great place to stay, nice , clean and quiet. Was here for work, but planning on bringing girlfriend up for weekend. Great restaurant and bar, and reasonable prices. Only downside was nothing opened up til 8 AM, so if you want a good cup of coffee and get up early, bring your own.. Will definitely be back!!

Five star weekend

The buckhorn is an amazing spot to enjoy some quiet time and relax. The whole place is great and having the restaurant and bar on site make for a really low key stay. We always end up meeting great people and having a blast when we visit. It’s like a little piece of Palm Spring but with a western flair and without all of the heat. The food in the restaurant is absolutely top notch and so is the service. The rooms are well appointed and very clean. We will be back again and again. I would suggest it for anyone. Five stars

Wonderful! Especially love the pool area, fire pits, and the bar! Rooms clean and great decor - a s’mores kit which was a great touch. We took part in the weekend guest chef chuck wagon meal event which was a bit of a dud…great music but food was cold and underwhelming. Should have enjoyed a meal at the on-site restaurant which is always a hit with local produce and lots of flare. Staff were excellent during every interaction. The owner introduced herself and provided a Prosecco toast for our table. If you want a getaway with great amenities, the Buckhorn does not disappoint!

The property itself is amazing, all the finishes of this hotel are beautiful and it’s extremely comfortable. I gave 4 stars because of the restaurant, the food selection and taste was ok. It’s a limited menu and it’s the same for lunch and dinner. Taking into consideration that there is not much to eat in this area, you have all your meals here so you end up with the same small menu and it wasn’t great. Also, we stayed for the BBQ experience on Saturday and it’s nice but the bbq meat is served really cold so we ended up taking it to go because it wasn’t enjoyable at all. Maybe a warming tray like the ones at the catering service would work fine. We didn’t enjoy this food at all. Sorry and it’s too bad because the ambiance and music was great but sometimes a bad meal can ruin your experience.

Hidden Fees!

This is a super cute hotel. It's a really nice get away. Not much to do so this is more of a quiet getaway. The problem is the extra fee not listed anywhere. Through Hotels.com I was charged for room, tax, resort fee, local tax. When I checked out, I was told they would check the room for damages and if anything was taken from the minibar. A bill would then get sent out later. The bill came higher due to a Processing Fee and additional STax. I called to clarify this and no answer. Left messages no reply. Hotels.com also tried calling them and no answer. What a horrible way to run a business. Also, Hotels.com didn't do anything to remedy this. Both fails for me.

Cuyama is one of those towns in the Middle of Nowhere, Ca that is the perfect place to unplug and escape the hustle to experience slow living. The property is the only hotel, restaurant and bar in the town and I wouldn’t have it any other way. Can’t wait to go back 💖

Love this place!! Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Room was very comfortable and clean. S’mores kit in the room to enjoy by the 2 fire pits. Pool, jacuzzi & sauna was very relaxing. And a bocce court was super fun. We will definitely be back!!

We loved our 2 night stay at Cuyama Buckhorn. It truly is a hidden hideaway in the middle of nowhere. Perfect place to unwind and relax, just a couple hours from LA. The staff was friendly, Sasha was very helpful at checking us in and our waitress Megan at the restaurant was patient and knowledgeable with us on all the vegan options available. We hope to be back again soon!
