We enjoyed our stay here! Especially loved being that close to the water and how peaceful it is in the area. Was a great middle point location to hit some of the scenic tourist spots.
Great location to visit many of the east UP national & state parks! The cottage is cute, the bed was comfortable & the view of the lake was so peaceful!
We loved the cottage, it was clean, had a washer and dryer(big plus with kids), lake was just out the door with sandy bottom. Had everything we needed for cooking. Great location to visit several attractions. Owner responded promptly when we had a minor problem. Great place! Would rent again
This is our second stay at the Loon Call, and it once again served as the perfect Eastern UP vacation hub. The lakefront location is phenomenal, and Sven’s well appointed cottage has everything we would want in a vacation getaway. As the title suggests, it doesn’t get much better than this!
The cottage was perfect for a quick visit. Upon arrival, the place was very clean. The beds were comfortable. Internet speed was excellent. Loved the fire pit by the lake! Unfortunately did not have time to fish. Location is perfect to access several UP attractions. Highly recommend!
Amazing location to get away. House was spectacular. Very Comfy beds. Perfect seating near the back windows which are overlooking the lake, great to relax after a day of fishing and adventuring. Host was very informative and prompt. Everything you could want in a host and a vacation rental. We will be back!
This property was absolutely beautiful and very well maintained. It has everything we needed and the view of the lake was incredible! The only thing we didn’t like was the spiders on the outside of the cabin and just inside the entry door. We had to knock down LOTS of webs and spiders just to enter and then kill about 8 of them in the entry. Other than that it was a great place to stay.
My family and I are VRBO veterans. We’ve stayed in a lot of places over the years, to include several in Michigan’s beautiful Eastern UP. But we’ve never stayed in a place quite like this. The owner has gone out of his way to outfit his cottage with everything you need to enjoy a peaceful and relaxing stay on the lake. South Manistique Lake is breathtaking, and the Curtis location places travelers within easy driving distance of all the region has to offer. Put simply, it’s hard to imagine a better VRBO experience!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Curtis, Michigan, and our host Sven was professional and personable. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a nice lakeside property with nearby attractions and restaurants! We did the pictured rocks glass bottom boat tour, watched ships through the soo locks, had barbecue cookouts on the grill, ate at the historic Helmer House for breakfast, and even made a day teip to Whitefish Point to visit the shipwreck museum. And at the end if each day, the warm and inviting memory foam mattresses at the property were the perfect end to the fun filled day! Thank you again for the wonderful experience and hopefully we can do it again soon! A+
Awesome cottage! Beds are super comfortable. Clean, modern but rustic, has everything you need and is located in a cute little lake village. The kayaks are a nice touch and a fire by the lake is always a treat. The owner communicates very well and the cottage is very welcoming. I would stay there again!
This house is in a beautiful location. There are kayaks available for use and if the weather had been more conducive, we would have used them. There is easy access to the lake and there is a lovely view from the living room windows. The house was clean, the kitchen is not large but adequate, and there is a washer and dryer available for use.
The property was exactly as described and perfect for what we needed! We really enjoyed the lake and the kayaks! The host was responsive and friendly. If we ever travel back to the UP we will definitely book this cottage again! Thanks for having us!
Cozy lakeside cottage. Very clean and well maintained. Good location to snowmobile out of as tail is right across the street. Parking with trailers can be a little tricky but we we’re able to make it work. Great place and great hosts. Thanks for letting us use your cottage!
Very nice cabin. Very cozy vibe.
We went for snowmobiling, the location wasn't "Great" for that because you had to ride a lot of roads to get to various trails. BUT the cabin was clean, cozy, and quiet. We didn't stay long and wasn't in the cabin often, but we definitely enjoyed our stay.
The Moose Du Nord (which was inside the welcome book) was an AMAZING suggestion and the owner of that place was a great/hospitable guy.
The property had everything we needed & was in a great location to get away from it all. Keep in mind that cell service is spotty so be sure to take a screenshot or write down the access code before you get there. Also, gas stations were either closed or the pumps didn’t work in the more rural areas so always make sure you have enough gas to get to the bigger towns.
Had a great week unwinding with the family and enjoyed the cottage very much, especially the lakefront views out of the living room and easy access to the water for swimming. The cottage didn't cool down as much as we were expecting in the evenings without A/C and it would have been nice to have an extra fan (we had to move the one fan from the living room to the 2nd bedroom to help cool things down for sleeping). Also, there were some basic things missing from the kitchen -- most notably a sponge to be able to wash dishes, which we just ended up buying at the grocery store. Beds were very comfortable. All in all, a very cozy and comfortable but basic cottage that worked very well for our needs. We also enjoyed how centrally located the cottage was to many of the excursions we did (no more than an hour in all directions to Mackinac Island, Pictured Rocks, Kitch-Iti-Kipi, and Tahquamenon Falls. Would definitely recommend.
