10/10 Excellent
"First off you need to be an adventurous traveler. You must have an SUV or 4x4 or you will never get there. You will find yourself in a remote area in the beautiful Alps of Albania. The visual experience is spectacular. This is a great experience that only a few will appreciate. Once you finally arrive the family is extremely gracias and they make sure you are well fed...breakfast, lunch and dinner! This is included. If you like to hike or just sit outside and enjoy the magnificent beauty of the Albanian Alps you will have an amazing experience and a great memory. Please do not expect anything fancy! This family is humble and gives their guests everything they have. Everything they offer you to eat is produced by their own hands. If you truly want to get back to basics and to experience living off the land this one's for you! I will always treasure the hospitality we received from our gracias hosts."

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to go to Curraj I Epërm?
The best time to go to Curraj I Epërm is during the late spring to early autumn months, specifically from May to October, when the weather is most favourable for outdoor activities.

During these months, the temperatures are pleasant, averaging between 18°C and 25°C, making it ideal for exploring the region's natural beauty. You'll find the mountain trails accessible and the rivers suitable for activities like kayaking or rafting. The longer daylight hours also allow for more time to enjoy the stunning landscapes.

For those planning to hike or trek through the Albanian Alps, July and August offer the warmest and driest conditions. This is great for reaching higher elevations and enjoying panoramic views without the concern of snow or heavy rain. It's also when local guesthouses and facilities are fully operational, ensuring a comfortable stay.

If you prefer to avoid the peak summer crowds and still enjoy good weather, May, June, September, and October are excellent alternatives.
