IMPORTANT SEASONAL WATER NOTE
Water levels at our dock change seasonally as Alabama Power draws down Smith Lake each year
• Mid March-Mid-August: Best water for swimming, kayaking & fishing from dock
• Late August-Labor Day: Water levels recede, with late-August depths often dropping to ~1–3 ft. Swimming becomes limited, while kayaking may still be possible
• After Labor Day: Water continues receding as lakebed becomes more exposed
• Fall & Winter: Water near dock typically shallow or absent, though streams continue flowing through toward the deeper cove
