Two families with 6 teens for our fall break enjoyed three days and 2 nights at the house. The house was even more beautiful than the pictures. A family dream house with endless activities for kids and adults. We loved how much there is to do in the area and we saw so much wildlife. It was quiet and beautiful. We didn’t want to leave! The house was over the top equipped for us. Wonderful, wonderful stay!!

Mammoth Cave visit

Great Golf Getaway

Group of 12 guys in the area to play some area golf courses. The property was great and suited our needs well. Plenty of room for all 12 of us to spread out, sleep and relax. Lee was great to work with, very responsive and quick to answer all questions about the area, local places to eat and general property inquiries. Would definitely look to stay there again if in the area.

Friends and Family Weekend Getaway

Great place to stay.

My family came down with two other families and had a great time. The house was really nice and well-kept. The access to the lake was great and the kids loved playing on the floating raft. We would definitely stay there again.

Family Spring Break

We stayed here with three families of four and it was a great fit! Six couples with six kids ages 3-13. They all had fun and even the adults enjoyed the old school arcade games. We made use of the pizza oven as well which was a real treat! Took the owners advice and used the ferry to get to Mammoth Cave, saved time and was a fun experience!

Perfect Lake House Getaway

The Captains Cove was a perfect place to stay for me and my friends! We would golf in the mornings and then come home to take advantage of the perfect location on the lake and the amenities of the home. Can’t recommend this VRBO enough for large groups!

Absolutely wonderful!

Kentucky getaway

We stayed at this property for two nights. Two families on our way to spring break, we stopped in Kentucky to have a couple day adventure. The house setting was just beautiful. The detail was amazing and the host was wonderful providing many recommendations and details about the local area. Highly recommend this property

3 kids 4 adults December 3 day stay

House was great, arcade room for kids and kid amenities fantastic, kitchen utensils available the best I have had in staying at a VBRO property. Hot tub water smelled bad and looked dirty, heater quit working during stay, pilot for fireplace was out, and grill starter also didn’t work. Was able to get pilot lit and fireplace going as needed.

Wish I could give this property 10 stars!

This property was beautiful, and had plenty of space for our friends weekend. The host was quick to respond to questions and really seemed to care that we had the best time ever. The TVs, the deck(s), the fire pit, the game room, everything was top notch! We just had a short walk to the water and wax marina was not far away at all! We will definitely return!!!

Beautiful Nolin Lake Propery

The property is beautiful and there are so many spaces to spread out and enjoy. We hit it during a heat wave, so we weren’t able to enjoy the outdoor spaces as much but we spent a lot of time in the great room playing games and catching up with family who are spread out across the country

Delightful

We found this place for a last minute getaway and it was delightful. My grands were entertained constantly with the game room and enjoyed hot tub and lake time. We feel this was a great find -everyone wanted to stay longer. Hosts were super responsive when we ran into a small glitch and provided extensive information to help us get around. The place is very nicely equipped--everything you might need for a stay.

Family Getaway

Captain’s Cove was a great place to stay with family or friends. We had three generations staying there and everyone enjoyed themselves and plenty of room for everyone to gather and spend time together. It is set up with lots of games and things to do with the kids and grandkids. It is just a short walk to the lake. The kitchen is well stocked with plates, utensils and pots and pans. The hosts are very responsive and quick to answer any questions you may have.

Wintertime hide-away

First time in a long time, the family was able to get together from different parts of the country. This was a great find. The game room was allot of fun for the kids and the dogs loved the outdoors. I would imagine the summertime would be awesome for fishing and boating fun.

Wonderful and Spacious Cabin

Was here with a group of friends, seven of us. The cabin was very spacious and accommodating. We appreciated all the extra provisions, and we even had a lot of fun playing foosball and shuffleboard in the game room downstairs! Wax Marina was not too far - where we rented a pontoon and then ate at Buoy’s, which was very good. I would highly recommend Captain’s Cove as a very comfortable place to stay in the Lake Nolin area. The owners have put together a very special place and thought of just about everything. We will have great memories of our time together there!

We rented this amazing property for a reunion of college friends and a trip to Mammoth Cave. From the very beginning, Lee communicated well with lots of details and suggestions. Everything was so great for large group gatherings! Lots of seating and eating areas for everyone to be included with so much space inside and out! Everything was super clean, and there were lots of extras included. The views were great, and the kitchen well stocked with everything for cooking for the eight of us. Couldn’t ask for a better property for our weekend, and Lee was such a great host! Highly recommend renting this place!

Hosts that think of everything!

Lee and Blake are great communicators, very knowledgeable about the area, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Property is in the perfect location, beautifully appointed and well stocked with basics. We enjoyed time on the lake, explored some caves, and had some terrific family time at the house with the fire pit, darts, foosball table, and shuffleboard. I even learned a new card game - Taco, Cat, Goat, Cheese, Pizza! We laughed until we cried with that one. Lots to do both at the property and exploring the surrounding area, so we would love to visit again.

Family get-together with caving

Our group consisted of grandparents, kids and grandkids. The cabin was very nice with plenty of sleeping options for our motley group of 14. Everything was labelled which was very helpful. Lee resolved any concerns we had quickly. Since we were there in December and it rained a LOT, we spent most of the time checking out the caves in the area and bourbon tours so I cannot comment on the lake amenities. The teens and twenty somethings spent most of their time in the game area. WiFi and streaming options were great. Some in the group enjoyed the hot tub. Kitchen and laundry were well equipped. Great views. One caution the driveway was large enough for our five cars, but rather steep in places.

Amazing Getaway!

I want to live here! This property is amazing! I was in awe when I walked in. The property is beautifully decorated. I had actually forgot about downstairs. When I walked downstairs I remembered why I chose to rent this property. The pictures on the website are exactly as shown. Most of our time was spent downstairs playing video games, shuffleboard or on the walk out patio area. The patio area was awesome, plenty of seating with an outside tv that was great for watching college football. I could go on and on about how great this place is! The homeowners were very responsive to all of my questions. I travel a lot and Lee and Blake have been the nicest hosts by far. This home has everything you will need. The only thing missing are you and your friends and family, you won’t be disappointed!

Well stocked home

We enjoyed a very relaxing vacation with our four adult children and two dogs. Everyone had their own room and space. Home was well stocked with everything we needed. We cooked all of our meals at the home for the entire week and there was nothing we lacked! The only pizza was at a gas station about 20 minutes away. There are no restaurants close by so plan accordingly. We spent a day at Mammoth Cave (an hour’s drive one way) and another half day zip lining (again, hour’s drive). We enjoyed all the games provided- shuffleboard, cornhole, darts. The fire pit was stocked with firewood. The hot tub was fabulous! We walked daily to the lake- but be aware, the slope is very steep! What a leg workout! There was nobody at any of the closest neighbors which was so peaceful for us. During busy season where the other homes are booked, you need to be aware that Captain’s Cove fir pit and the neighbor’s fire pit are very near to one another as are the other homes. The upper deck and lower patio were used by everyone. Lee was wonderful to work with. He had noticed that a shuffleboard piece was missing so he told me that the Amazon delivery would be at the door when we arrived. We thoroughly enjoyed such a wonderful and peaceful vacation. Thank you to Lee and Blake for allowing us to use their beautiful home!
