Waterfront seclusion on the Ozello islands

Come relax and escape from it all in real Florida. The Ozello keys are a string of islands on Floridas nature coast that are fully accessible by car. Nestled between Homosassa Springs and Crystal River. This 2 bedroom/ 2 bath stilt home sits on a peninsula. It is fully furnished with all of the creature comforts of home including linens, dishes, spices, etc. It has a full kitchen, washer, dryer, 2 x flat screen TV's, wifi, Netflix, DVD player, grill, and covered parking. It can sleep a maximum of 7 with a queen bed in each bedroom, a full size electric air mattress, and a twin size sleeper loveseat in the master bedroom. There are 2 elevated decks outside to enjoy as well as a large fire pit down by the water to make memories at. Also included are 3 kayaks for your use as well as limited fishing equipment and tackle. Kayaks and small boats can be used from the back yard. There is not a dock and due to a low bridge most boats can not get from the gulf to the house . Boat ramp and marina is less than 1.5 miles away. Lots of things to do if you are looking for activities. Year round there is great fishing and nature watching from the back yard as well as seeing dolphin and manatees wondering through. Go down to the marina and see the area on an airboat tour. A quick trip up the road for a meal at either Backwater Fins or the historic Pecks restaurant. Maybe go explore Homosassa Springs and Crystal River, each about 10 miles away, there is always something going on. Little over an hour from Tampa or Orlando. Must be ok with friendly dogs because neighbor dogs will almost always come over to say hi. No gatherings or events over 12 people. Dogs are allowed with a fee but they cannot jump on or sleep on the furniture. This may waive your deposit. There is a small elevator but has been disconnected and cannot be used by guests for liability reasons.

Slice of paradise

The Ozello House offers a lot of privacy, being in cottage country, with many of the comforts of home. We appreciated being right on the water, with access to kayaks and a hammock. We enjoyed use of the fire pit, and watching the abundance of fish in the water and birds flying overhead.

The quiet Place

We enjoyed the peace and quiet where you could sit on the porch drink your coffee watch the birds or go for a bike ride or kayak in the waterways . Great place!

This house is in the perfect location for anyone wanting to spend time fishing in Homosassa, or the bay. House is in a very quiet location but not to far away from anything to make it inconvenient. We will be back.

November in Ozello

A great, spacious house in a serene, beautiful location. We loved our stay and exploring the Crystal River area. The property's very well equipped, truly a home from home, and enabled us to enjoy a very relaxing family break, plus the stars at night were simply amazing! We wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Beautiful natural Florida

Morning coffee on the deck is heavenly. Comfortable home nicely decorated. There is still evidence of hurricane damage in the area but this property is fine. Two of three local restaurants are open and we enjoyed them both. (Backwater Finns and Pecks). Kayaking from the back yard was fun. Hosts are great - very responsive. Loved our stay!

Great old Florida charm

Located near state parks and nice spots to stop for meals. Taking the kayaks out was a highlight. Instructions were great, property has what you need to cook your own meals. Hope to be back

Very relaxing and friendly

This property is away from it all. However, when we ventured out everyone was friendly. The on-site manager, Jennifer, was very welcoming and helpful. We had our 15 year old grandson and he would have liked to have more to do. He did kayak down the stream and saw a manatee, so that made it all worthwhile.

Great time in the Florida mangroves

We totally enjoyed our stay! If you want to be away from hustle and bustle this is a place! Just beware you need a lot of bug sprays and you should be able climb multiple steps everytime you go out 😆 4 stars on cleaniness as carpets have a lot of stains, and we had to wash dishes before using as glasses had lips marks on them. Other than that we had an awesome time! THANKS 😊

Beautiful views

We enjoyed our stay so much and were so happy that you weathered Hurricane Idalia well, being up on stilts! Feel confident that you can stay without worry about storm damage! The town is recovering well.. We had fun with our dogs and had amazing fishing and scalloping trips at the marina! We enjoyed the fire pit, and the well stocked kitchen. Thanks so much!!

Quiet getaway

No complaints. The property was as described, clean, and peaceful. Its located far away from the beaten path so keep that in mind when heading back to the house from town. We had turtles, egrets, and deer roaming the property. Yes there are gnats and mosquitoes but those just comes with the territory.

It was wonderful

A lovely quiet spot to just chill out. We went canoeing on the river. There is a lovely firepit spot but we did not use that. Comfortable home with everything you could want. Very quiet, it's about 20 minutes back to the store so go prepared, which we did. We did not need to leave the property once there.

Family weekend adventure

My family and I were looking for a close getaway , long weekend adventure. We were not disappointed! Upon arrival, the home was exceptionally clean. The beds and furniture are were very comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. Outside we spent our days enjoying the kyaks and fishing all day. We found a great little spot that a passing family on boat recommended. We caught anything from snook to sting rays. We spent our evenings enjoying the sound of the fish jumping and listening to music by the fire pit. This place is a perfect getaway for a family looking for an adventure. The host Jenna and Justin were amazingly responsive and helpful. We will definitely be back!

Private Paradise

Although there are houses near you, it feels like you're the only one. It's so peaceful. We enjoyed fishing (just wish there had been more open areas). The house was very clean. The 1st one I've stayed at that there was no dust. The kitchen had everything you needed to cook meals, which we cooked every meal there. This house was so comfortable, it felt like home. We hated to leave. There were showers with doors in both bathrooms. I don't like shower curtains. They stick to your body. Water was hot and good pressure. They have games, puzzles, books and dvds if it rains or you just want to stay in and enjoy the beautifully decorated home. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and didn't want to leave. We recommend this secluded hidden gem in Ozella very much.

Nearly Perfect

Our family loved this location and amenities so much. The firepit, kayaks, decor, entertainment, and furnishings were great and we all wanted to stay longer. The owners gave very specific instructions and information, as well, and that was so helpful. They were also pet-friendly and we loved having our dog with us for our stay. Unfortunately I do feel the need to warn people that the second bedroom with one bed was an issue for us. We had our kids in the master (2 in one bed and 1 in the pull-out bed) and then my husband and I took the smaller bedroom with only one bed. This bed was incredibly squeaky and shaky with every movement, so we barely slept the entire time. The slightest movement from one would wake up the other, so it just didn't work for us. If there was just one person in the bed or maybe children who sleep through anything, it might have been fine. Other than that, it was just a wonderful place and we would love to stay there again.
