The house is very cozy with a well appointed kitchen and a beautiful view of the lake. We would like to go back some day. The host is very responsive and kind.
Oriole cottage is a super clean, well-equipped cottage just yards from access to Copake Lake. Our hosts, Cheryl and Hannah were great communicators and super welcoming, and neighbors were friendly. The cottage is full of modern amenities and the air conditioning in every room was a huge plus on the humid July days! Craryville is a great area to stay in with lots of cool places to visit close by in the Berkshires. We spent most of our time on the lake-- boating, fishing and swimming, and just taking in the beautiful views. Overall, a fantastic experience for my family-- I highly recommend this great cottage and we hope to stay here again!
We absolutely loved our stay here. The cottage has amazing views of the lake and is just across the street from the lake, it is truly a great location. Cottage is clean, nice layout and decorated so lovely. We appreciated all the outdoor things for use- floats, games, chairs, noodles, etc.. Cheryl is a great host, very kind.
Copake Lake is a little hidden gem!! We loved walking down the street to the beautiful water and beach area with the kids. It worked perfect for us because if the kids needed something we could just run back up to the house!
The Copake Lake Boat + Ski Marina down the street is amazing and so convenient as it is a very short walk down the street. It has everything you would need- food, coffee, ice cream, beer and wine. The kids loved dancing to the guitarist playing on Saturday night, floating and swimming in the lake. We also did the Bash Bish falls hike. So beautiful! There is lots to do in the area- we will certainly be back!!!
this place was a gem....a cozy cottage just steps from a lake in a little hamlet in the Hudson Valley. The place was clean, VERY well stocked, and everything that we were promised. Communication with the property owner was easy . No issues whatsoever during our stay and the price was right
Cheryl’s place is a lovely cottage near the lake. We loved everything they did to make our stay more enjoyable, from many pairs of water shoes (definitely helpful for swimming!) to folding chairs, floats, and many different coffee-making options. We also loved the wind chimes and napping bed on the screened-in porch. The swimming was good, although it’s a busy lake with many motor boats. We had some long swims and the water was warm / comfortable. It’s best to swim near shore to avoid the boats. The waterfront is grassy and hilly and we read and chatted there. A couple of the neighbors are quite enthusiastic in their posting of political signs, but once on the property, the signs weren't too noticeable, and the neighbors didn't bother anyone. We enjoyed walking down to the little restaurant just a few minutes away for ice cream and live music in the evenings. The kitchen had everything we needed and the sliding doors onto the deck made it feel summery all the time. On a couple hot days the A/C made a big difference.
