    The main A-Frame home features 1.5 Baths, with two Main Floor Bedrooms, a Loft Bedroom, a Basement Game Room, Laundry Room, plus plenty of parking. There is also a detached Master Suite complete with bedroom, bathroom, and private deck with views of the lake.

    The expansive deck areas include a screened-in main level porch off the family room with amazing views of the lake. Other deck areas include a covered deck, two large, split level entertaining decks, and a natural rock deck with fire pit.

    This property also has a covered, single-slip dock and large swim platform that keeps your boat/PWC safe and out of the elements with plenty of space for water activities from floating to boating and fishing.

We couldn't of had a GREATER place to stay for all of us. The house was amazing with everything you need with comfy beds and pillows. We used all bedrooms even the little cottage which was cozy and warm. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook for five nights. We even used the the grill.

Overall we had a great time. 2 Grandparents, 2 parents and 2 boys all fit comfortably in the main house. Did use the detached room for showers when the main bathroom was being used. Only used the game room to wash clothes. Game room has a separate outdoor entrance. The house could use some freshening up. Lots of stairs to the dock which wasn't an issue for us. Loved sitting outside on the screened in porch and the fire-pit area overlooking the lake was great. Caught some nice catfish. The location is really great with a nice view of the lake. Kids enjoyed a rope swing nearby.

Perfect Weekend Lake Retreat!

This home and place is so special. We loved that every one in our family had a space for themselves to sleep and so many spaces to just sit and be quiet, to fish, to read and relax. Night time camp fires overlooking the water and watching the night sky. The kitchen was fully stocked so that we were able to grill and cook our favorites all day. A great place to get away from it all. Beds were nice and cozy too and host was so quick to answer any questions we had while there. Highly recommend for a family/friends getaway.

Everything the host expressed in the welcome email was accurate and appreciated. The house had more room than we expected. The dock is very nice and it was in a great location to other places on the lake. There are a decent amount of stairs to the dock but expected as this is common for smith lake. I’ve stayed in other locations where the steps to the dock were crazy and you would be exhausted by the time you got to the lake, or back to the house.

Great location on the lake. The dock is awesome and in great shape. Loved the PWC docks. It’s a 25 ish minute drive to a public ramp to launch your own boat or PWC. The house is great, we didn’t need all the space but there are lots of places to sleep. The driveway is steep and if you have a boat trailer it’s going to be a bit of a challenge getting it tucked in at the top of the driveway, but it can be done.

Family Getaway

We went for a weekend stay with family, and had a great time despite some of the rainy weather. The place was nice, and accomodated everyone. The inside was clean, but we had to clean all of the furniture on the back porch, due to pollen being on everything (it appeared that we were possibly the first guests of the season, but we LOVED the back porch & swing), and someone left trash & fishing reel parts on the boathouse. A few things we didn’t know about or take into consideration were how many stairs there were to the boathouse, the fact that there isn’t a dishwasher, that the only way downstairs to the game room was by going outside with all of the stairs, and also that Smith Lake Park is the closest boat ramp (we had two fishing boats with us). Otherwise we liked the place, and enjoyed our family getaway. Thank you for sharing your place with us).

Loved the View

We really enjoyed our stay at A Deck with a view. Having young married adult kids the room and bed set up worked well for us. The upstairs loft worked well for our single young adult kids. It does take a little while for the upstairs to cool down but by nighttime it was fine. The view from the screened porch was my favorite! There are 74 steps down to the water so a lot less than some of the houses we saw. Trident Marina is an 8 min drive and 5 min boat ride. The boat rental was a huge hit. The house in an older home but has lots of charm. The separate little “cottage” was perfect for my husband and I to get away from the kids since they stay up so late. I knew it didn’t have a dishwasher so I was prepared and brought lots of paper/plastic products. There are plenty of dish towels, bath towels and beach towels. All the kids commented on how comfortable the beds were. The house is not fancy but it has a great cozy feel.
