"This place was perfect for my family of small kids (3 years and 7 months). This resort is huge but stroller friendly. It was perfect for my toddler who loves to run everywhere. The people there were great and the food was delicious. Many options for swimming. We got the unlimited Xcaret experience, which was perfect for small kids to do everything slow vs jamming it all in one day or two. The park is literally attached to the resort so walking in and out is only about 5 mins with two entry points. The entertainment, the beach lagoon, the pools, it was all great. The buildings are a bit older and more ecolodge feeling (which is perfect for this place that is all nature) so if you have accessibility needs, make sure to highlight those as there is no elevator at the individual hotel lodging buildings. Lots of wild life and lovely trails within the resort. We loved that we were able to snorkel and see beautiful fish in the freshwater beach and pool. Beautiful Mayan landmarks to discover. Expedia has its own building (building 22 which is closer to the beach and one of the Xcaret entrance) and Booking through Expedia has its perks like making sure all your a la carte reservations are done at once vs waiting in line each day to book them. There is also a common room in the Expedia building with coffee and breakfast treats (for a quick start to your morning). Make sure to talk to the Expedia customer service to know what perks you have as an Expedia member. "

"The facility is beautiful and the food was amazing!! The grounds are immaculate and the staff are all so welcoming and friendly! The room and bed were very comfortable. Great pool and beach area too! We loved every minute of our stay!"

"The service overall was great. The food was pretty good. Room- preferred club swim out was spacious and comfy bed. Concierge was very helpful and responded anytime we reached out. The spa excellent. You can tell for the most part everyone cares about making sure you have a good stay. We didn’t eat at all the restaurants but most were good. Steakhouse least favorite and Hibachi favorite for food but service the French restaurant was the best. Check out not as pleasant as checking in but not too bad. We enjoyed the beach and always had a spot when we went out. Pool was usually more crowded. The entertainment was good. We had a nice relaxing vacation and actually decided to just stay in the resort for our 5 night stay. Would go back but would like to try other Secret resorts. "

"Great kids resort"

"Wyndham has been busy in restoring the beach area as when we were there 2 years ago, the beach just outside the boundary of the main pool was non-existent. There are now loungers in the area where water used to be. Same with the ground level suites that face the ocean - you might not be access the beach still but at least water is not lapping at the balcony door. The hotel has implemented a rule regarding placing the hotel towels and personal items to reserve loungers by the main pool and pool by Off the Hook; unfortunately, occasionally staff will remove the items after an hour. It is sad that some patrons do not like to follow the rule as everyone should have opportunity to relax by the pool. Jorge, pool and bar manager informed me that towel/reservations is a work in progress. The Wyndham front line staff including management are welcoming (Alexandro) and are willing to help out with reasonable requests. The food at the resort are superb. The buffet have variety so one never gets bored of having the same food though I can never get enough of taco chips/salsa/habanero. Thanks to Eduardo and Hector for introducing me to the lovely hot sauces. Sebastian, thank you for remembering my pot of decaf coffee with hot leche (milk) in the morning. Suggestions: please reinstate small bills for exchanging for large bills and bring back my popcorn. "

"This was our first time at Ocean Maya, we picked the Privilege package and loved the “perks”. All the staff are so friendly. Have to give a huge thank you to our Butler Alberto and to Jorge at the Privilege hut by the beach, they took such great care of us and made our vacation very enjoyable. Food was great at all of the restaurants, we couldn’t pick a favourite, they were all really good. The buffet had so many choices of food. The pool and beach are well maintained and the grounds were very beautiful. Our room was clean and comfortable, the mini bar was stocked every day and we loved that there were 2 small bags of chips to snack on when we got back from the beach. There were lots of animals to spot on the property from Coatis, birds, iguanas and we even saw a deer by the tennis courts. The resort has so many options for everyone depending on what you want for your vacation. The party pool was always rockin with the entertainment staff. We enjoyed the quiet pool and the beach. The property isn’t huge, we liked that you didn’t have to walk too far to get to anything. We have stayed at many resorts in Cancun and Cabo. This is a great resort and we have plans to go back soon.
