The Story Studio Sortelha at Travessa do Forno, no. 4, 1st Floor, is an accommodation unit in the T1 studio type with 39m2, featuring excellent amenities with two single beds and a double sofa bed for four people.
This studio is located in the alley where the old "community oven" existed, in the vicinity of the oldest houses in this medieval village from the 16th-17th centuries, which are very well preserved today. From here, pedestrian access to the castle and the old citadel is quick and direct.
It is a traditional house from the Beira Interior originally built in granite, which has been restored in a contemporary style with high standards of comfort.
The small Judaic Ekhal existing on a wall in the living room of the house is a stronghold of Jewish heritage that testifies to the existence of a significant community of Sephardic Jews in Sortelha, very possibly with connections to the diaspora that occurred from the Kingdom of Castile in the late 15th century, which settled in the Alto Côa region.
