"The property is not as shown in photos on website. These photos are from several years ago and do not reflect it’s current state. It is very tired and in need of an update. For the price paid I would not expect to arrive and have bed sheets that were many years old (they were clean), a broken toilet seat and a dirty barbecue! Whilst the village is very rural there is nothing there so please ensure you stock up on supplies."

"Very nice little apartment away from the business of St Michel. Kitchen was so nice to have after eating in restaurants for the last 2 weeks. Kids loved the pool, and adults enjoyed sipping wine on our deck. The staff was very friendly and was able to get our place ready ahead if check in."

"Lovely little property a few minutes walk from the coast where there are fantastic views across st Mont Le Saint-Michel. Many beautiful places to visit not too far away. Quiet location with a couple of local shops and restaurants in the vicinity. We would definitely stay again"

"Vieux-Viel ist ein kleiner und sehr ruhiger Ort. Für uns war es als Ausgangspunkt für Ausflüge in die Region ideal (Mont St. Michel, Avranche, St. Malo, Cancale, etc...). "This was a special stay, not for the quality of the accommodation but because of it's location and history. Room was fairly basic but a view to die for, just spectacular. Mt St Michel is magnificent, at night it becomes magical. The abbey lit up at night was amazing. La mere Poulard was ok, friendly reception and good sized, old fashioned room with important fridge, bottled water and fan (essential for the summer). Breakfast was good, eggs, bacon, charcuterie, fresh pastries and breads and freshly made gluten free bread. The rooms are dripping in history. Worth it just to experience the Mt and Abbey at night and early morning before it is swamped with visitors. Parking is off site c£35"

"Check-in was easy to find, they were very accommodating with storing our luggage until we checked in and after we checked out. The room was small, but completely sufficient for 3 people. It was clean, comfortable, and we would stay there again. We did have a bit of a walk to a secondary location in order to access the room, but this placed us closer to the edge of the island which gave better views and a more comfortable breeze with the windows open. "

"We had a great time staying on the island in this cute 4 single bed room. It had 2 single beds pushed together on the main floor and then a loft with 2 single beds. The bathroom was large and newly redone. We were able to open the windows for a draft and it was very quiet until around 9am. We were able to enjoy exploring the island and liked the back door that went right out onto the ramparts. There is a very cute courtyard that guests can access that we didn't realize. Beautiful flowers and tables, we had a picnic out there. "

"Very nice place to stay. Very good service and staff is really great. Just a few minutes by car to a parking lot or 25 minutes walk to the Mont St-Michel shuttles in a safe track. Nice spot to see Mont St-Michel from a distance in the morning. If you like sheeps, you will be able to see them pass by twice a day. Very cool to see them with the dogs doing their job."
