Michigans Upper Peninsula ON the Escanaba River with wooded 5 acres of Privacy.

Watch Eagles every day! On the Escanaba River ( a fisherman/Outdoors paradise) sits a small chalet surrounded by 5 acres of woods, trails, the river and wildlife. Class A trout stream offering brook, brown and rainbow trout. This Cottage sits on the water and has a deck for watching the Eagles soar looking for lunch or a family of deer cross the river. Recently updated this home is comfortable and quaint. There is no Central Air but the home maintains a cool cross breeze. We do have a stand up air conditioner and three fans. There is one bedroom in the basement with a queen size bed. A pull out sofa in the walk out basement family room and a loft with low ceilings that accommodates two twin beds overlooking the water. This is a very private setting with wildlife all around it. The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils, pots, pans and dishes. The bedrooms have sheets/blankets/pillows and we supply a towel and wash cloth for each guest. Bring your own toiletries and food. Plan on cool days and chilly nights here in Michigans Upper Peninsula. Bring warm clothes. The bathroom is small and has no bathtub. We have a canoe for your enjoyment, a charcoal grill, fire pit, variety of inside games and corn-hole. You should see wild turkeys, Deer, porcupines, raccoons, Eagles, squirrels & yes when you least expect it you might see a bear. In the area we have wolves and Coyotes. Be watchful of the horse and buggy's as we have a community of Amish neighbors. Down the road is a Amish bake sale on Saturdays and of course we are close to Escanaba for shopping and dining. We ask that you will take all of your own personal items including your food and leave nothing behind. Try and leave the cottage just the way you found it as this is our home and our hope is to continue sharing it with our new friends we meet along the way. May you make many memories here and come back again!

Wonderful long weekend stay at this gorgeous property
I and my family had such a relaxing time during our stay. The property is well-maintained and spotless. Gorgeous private location that we were there for peak foliage. I really enjoyed quiet mornings on the back deck listening to the river and watching the birds including an eagle. Shawn and Brian were terrific hosts. I highly recommend this gorgeous property!

Absolute tranquility
This was one of the most relaxing vacations we’ve had in a long time. The location was stunning, the river view from the back deck was our favorite place to hang out. Kitchen was well stocked! You will want to stop at a grocery store on the way in for perishables Or you can visit many of the Amish farms nearby and pick up fresh eggs and all sorts of goodies. The bed downstairs was nice and comfortable. We watched a few movies and even put the puzzle together. The Apple trees were a real nice surprise! We didn’t have cell reception but we are on xfinity so that’s to be expected (it was a blessing). There are a couple of canoes and a huge fire pit on the property. If you’re looking for a real escape, this is it. I recommend at least a full week here. Two if you can manage it. Really let yourself unwind and check out everything the UP has to offer. You won’t be disappointed. We will be back soon!

Peaceful Location
We spent a week relaxing at this beautiful riverfront home. Kitchen is well stocked, and comfortable bed. Isolated location with wildlife all around, deer family crossing the river. Eagles fishing, cranes, gulls, and chipmunks all around.

Such a Gem!!!
Absolutely loved this place. The deck over the water was the perfect way to start our morning with coffee. The cabin itself was very clean and rustic feeling. Exactly what we were looking for. We couldn’t get the tv to stream but we weren’t there to watch tv so it didn’t matter. They had plenty of dvds to watch before bed so it was perfect. There is a fire pit so we enjoyed that and could hear the coyotes howling. It was great. The communication with the hosts was great as well. Highly recommended. Peaceful escape!
What a great place! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return next summer. The highlight of our stay was sitting on the deck, under a canopy of beautiful trees, watching the river float by. Thank you for sharing your place with us!

Peaceful Getaway
We really enjoyed our stay. It was so peaceful sitting out on the deck overlooking the river. The cabin is cute and had just about everything we needed. The owner checked in with a couple messages to make sure everything was going well. This was a perfect home base to explore Escanaba, and just an hour drive from Munising where we went on the Pictured Rocks Spray Falls Cruise, which was gorgeous. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.
