The Badland - A Home in the Heartland

Enjoy small, Midwest town hospitality in this ground floor apartment with private entrance.
Home has all the essentials and is ideal for stays of any length.
Visit the missile silo, hunt/fish, or come for work or family.
- Full kitchen with pots, pans, dishes, silverware, etc.
- Full size refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot (w/ coffee), and toaster
- Brand new queen size mattress
- Brand new Deluxe futon/couch
- In-suite washer and dryer free to use
- All linens and towels are provided

We will not bother you during your stay unless you request something. Note that we do not offer daily turndown service or mid-stay laundering, but self-service laundry is available at anytime free of charge.

Cooperstown is a rural, small, upper-midwest town. There's bars, a handful of restaurants, a Dollar General and grocery store - all within walking distance. Some of the nation's best hunting is close by as is the Luverne Wind Farm and the Cooperstown Medical Center and Griggs County Care Center.

There is no public transportation available in Cooperstown, but there are some private transportation options. While it is possible to stay here without a car as essential services are within reasonable walking distance, a car is close to essential with staying in Cooperstown.

Wedding Shower

4th time to stay in this complex, good rates, and comfortable bed. Not fancy but does the job and allows our dogs. Listing for Badlands says 2 bedroom but is a bedroom and a futon in the living area. We are staying in July in the Family unit (2 bedrooms/baths) for our son’s wedding.

Great location. Easy check in/out

This was a last-minute trip for a family emergency. I'm so glad I found this location! Convenient spot in Cooperstown, comfortable accommodations, and the owner was super friendly! Will definitely book again the next time I find my way up there

Pros: Nice location. Fully-stocked kitchen. Air conditioning. Plenty of pillows/bedding. New mattresses. Nice shower Cons: cleanliness is mediocre. Some minor maintenance would improve doors (including jams), window coverings, and locks. Overall, decent experience and yes, I’d stay there again.

From the beginning, there was no key in the lock box. Waiting for a person to arrive to let us in then we were told we were assigned the wrong room. Then we find the room is not ready. The refrigerator and stove were turned off, room dirty, kitchen cabinet shelves badly warped and broken drawers. The overall property is poorly maintained.
