About this property
The Lake House Coongulla - Lakefront Getaway for Couples
Lakefront Escape For Couples • Two Queen Bedrooms • Dog-Friendly • Direct Lake Access • Coonara Fireplace • Secure Undercover Parking
The Lake House Coongulla is an original 1970s waterfront holiday house on Ryan’s Cove, Lake Glenmaggie, in Gippsland. With lake views, spacious living areas and a large, fully fenced garden, it’s a private place to slow down and make yourself at home.
Welcoming guests since 2017, the house is ideal for a couple wanting room to unwind, or two couples sharing a relaxed getaway. Spend your days on the water, explore nearby country towns and wineries, or simply settle in and enjoy the view.
Your Stay at a Glance
• Entire house and grounds for your exclusive use • Sleeps up to four guests in two queen bedrooms • Quality bed linen and bath towels supplied • Direct lake access from the backyard • Two kayaks provided for guest use • Up to two dogs welcome at no additional charge • Large, fully fenced grassed yard • Free Wi-Fi • Coonara wood heater and air conditioning • Equipped kitchen, washing machine and dryer • Outdoor fire pit with comfortable seating • Secure undercover parking for two vehicles, plus driveway space for a boat or additional vehicle
Space, Comfort and Original Character
The house has been thoughtfully updated while retaining its original warmth, character and relaxed holiday feel.
The living and dining areas span the full width of the house, overlooking the lake and garden. An oversized dining table and generous lounge seating give you space to spread out, read, share a meal or spend a quiet afternoon indoors.
Enjoy slow mornings with a fresh coffee, cosy evenings beside the Coonara and sunset drinks overlooking the water.
Lake Days, Your Way
The lake is right at the bottom of the property, with direct access from the backyard. Enjoy kayaking, swimming, fishing and boating, or bring your paddleboard and explore Ryan’s Cove at your own pace.
Two kayaks are available for guests to use.
Lake Glenmaggie is an irrigation reservoir, so water levels and shoreline conditions change. Bringing a boat to the bank depends on the water level during your stay. Please ask us about current conditions when planning your visit.
Bring Your Dog
Up to two dogs are welcome at no extra charge. The large, fully fenced block includes approximately 650 m² of grassed yard, visible from the lounge. The grounds can also be divided into two enclosed areas to separate the main garden from the driveway.
A full-length undercover veranda provides a sheltered place for your dogs to relax, with full visibility to the living area.
Thoughtful Extras
Complimentary bathroom and laundry essentials are provided, along with a selection of pantry basics to help you settle in.
Beds are freshly made before your arrival, with quality linen and bath towels supplied. Some bedding is natural linen, chosen for its comfort and softly textured, relaxed appearance.
The house is thoroughly cleaned and carefully prepared between stays, ready for you to unpack and unwind.
Private Arrival and Secure Parking
Close the gates behind you and unload in privacy, with covered access from the carport to the house.
There is undercover parking for two vehicles, plus driveway space for a boat or additional vehicle.

We had a great stay at The Lake House Coongulla. Spacious, comfortable, well-furnished and spotlessly clean, with plenty of privacy. We arrived late, but the straightforward access and thoughtful setup made settling in easy.Waking up to the view of the lake right at the bottom of the backyard was a real highlight. The house has a welcoming feel, with plenty of small touches that make you feel at home. There was everything we needed to enjoy our stay, laundry, bathroom and kitchen supplies. A well-equipped kitchen. A big thanks to Darren for his excellent communication and local business connections. He helped me organise a couple of surprises for our anniversary, which made the stay even better.
