About this property

Convenient summer house on the Nollur farm at Eyafjord

  • The house was designed by a Swiss architect and completed in 2009. There is a pleasant indoor temperature in summer and winter. The house is heated with natural hot water. The large windows allow an unrestricted view to the fjord and the weather changes. In winter, Northern Lights can be observed without leaving the house.

    There are three separate rooms and a bathroom. The main room has a large table and the kitchen. The main sleeping room has a double bed and a sofa with a nice view to the Fjord. The children's room has a bunk bed. The bathroom is in black stone and equipped with a spacious shower. The fully equipped kitchen has all amenities and a large fridge. Enough dinnerware and cutlery is available. WiFi and a computer with internet access is in the room as well.

Amazing views of the fiord. Can not beat the location for viewing the northern lights. It is the second time staying at this property and every time it will be a must stay on the trip!

Beautiful cottage on the fjord

Great location if you want to get away from it all. Property was clean, kitchen was well apppinted and practical, and the views out the back window and patio were stunning. Would definitely stay here again.

Amazing place with a stunning view

Beautiful place to stay, the views over the bay are amazing, only a 15 minute drive to downtown akureyri, yet peacefull and quiet in the house. Owner of the buildings is a great guy, can help you with anything, giving recommendation or just a chat. Will be visiting again on future iceland trips.

Peaceful fjord view.

This was our favorite place we stayed in the two weeks we spent driving around this beautiful country. The views from every room are expansive and the Aurora Borealis put on a show. The kitchen is well appointed with everything we needed to cook full meals. It is clean, bright and easy to get to.

Beautiful House with amazing view

The Houses in Nollur are super clean and spaceous. We ordered a babybed, which was already in the house when we arrived. Communication with the owner was super fast and friendly.The view is superior, we were lucky to see northern lights from the bedroom twice

Relaxation at its finest

I am so glad we found this listing. Being right on a fjord was awesome. The first morning there we saw and heard whales. The property is just far enough from town but not to far. We were able to drive to the tourist sites and not be rushed. For our first trip to Iceland, this location was perfect.

Stunning place on the fjord

This was a highlight of our trip. Views from the place out to the fjord and the mountains are stunning, and everything in the house is new and well-designed and thought out. Kitchen is stocked with quality pans. Thomas provided a book with lots of local tips, including restaurants and hikes, which we made good use of. It's a bit off the beaten track, and for us that is a plus! I would totally recommend this place.

going back to a place speaks for itself

icland for us is a place with some profound memories... this place thomas built, Nollur, has its position in our history. and its so nice to see, after years gone by, to come back to that place, and its overall quality is still there in the same way.from my perspective it has it all. great location. remote but still within a reasonable drive to akureyri, its so calm. but you can see the force of nature, and if you want to, go out an feel it! ;-)its built simple but high quality. sturdy. elegant. no overload in decoration because it does not need to. its cosy, gives you a sense of protectivness. built within the locations natural shape. unobtrusive. i very much like that. kudos to the bulider, thomas, who probably put tons of thouhts into the layout of the property, the positioning of the buildings, the easiness but thoughfullness of so many details. with all those aspects its value proposition is so different from any other comercial vacation home/place.thx! to the people who do things differntly!we will come again...

Black and White

The "White's": Fantastic view on fjord and mountains Very quiet Some high quality elements in the house like inox steel working area in kitchen, high quality coffee brewer, good mattresses etc The "Black's": We requested in advance the second bedroom to be prepared and only after several reminders we received on day 3 a linen but not an offer to prepare the room for the second half of the stay, so we had to clean it on our own On the one hand a high quality coffee machine, on the other hand for a four person house only one spoon, fork etc per person, many similar examples could be provided Cleaning could have been much more thorough, in bathroom, bedrooms etc For that price I would have expected a bit of salt, pepper and sugar in the house as an absolute minimum so we had to buy that stuff although we already had completed two other stays of cottages on the island before Etc. Etc. The owners live far away in Germany/Switzerland, probably have invested a lot of money into the place but now rely on people that do not manage it as it would be their own property and only do the minimum if at all, do not replace/refill things that should obviously be done and we have never got the impression to feel at least a bit at home away from home. In summary, OK but expensive for a few hours of sleep but not a place you would like to spend a longer time.

The property is absolutely amazing. The views are incredible and the property itself is very modern and well designed and furnished. The floors have radiant heating which was extremely pleasant. About 30-40 minutes from downtown. We stayed for a week and found it to be beyond perfect. Would definitely recommend staying at Nollur farms. The views, property attention to detail will not disappoint.
