"Positive-the small apartment was clean. The apartment is in a decrepit house that should never be featured as a rental. Stairs up to the apartment are not to code. Garbage cans- overflowing. Not one of the nice Syracuse neighborhoods. I would have left affer a night but was too busy to find a hotel and change. Had to contact host re check in and he responded promptly. It’s fine to give details at 230 but let guest know in advance."

"We went to Syracuse for the Syracuse nationals car show. Approximately five days before we left, I asked the host if there was an outside grill. I was told that there would be one there.. We were one hour outside of Syracuse when I texted the host to ask about keys and a lockbox. I got a text back that stated we were supposed to have been there five days previous. "Great location, friendly staff, under construction but had no issue with that. It was perfect for what we needed! (XO Taco across the street was awesome! Fantastic food and the best Margaritas)"

"This hotel is extremely clean! The room was immaculate - mattress looked brand new (we always remove bedding to check for bed bugs - the mattress was as clean as can be!!). I really can't believe a hotel room could be this clean! There was no breakfast but each of us was given a $5 voucher to use at the take-out cafe below. The selection of items were delicious and very reasonably priced too! (I had a blueberry scone with icing and a coconut chocolate cookie! There were also cannolis, croissants, coffee, etc,) Staff was also very helpful. It was fun to have the casino on-site. It was safe too - you need a room card to be able to use the elevator to got up to your room floor. Would definitely stay again!"

"Parking was safe and easy, and staff was fine. The hotel is very bright and welcoming and had a 24 hour coffee/tea area in the lobby which was great since there was no coffeemaker in the room. We had a microwave in the room and there was also one in the lobby, nice. Breakfast offered a plain and simple setup, cereals, yogurt, fruit, juices, toast/bagels, granola. Our room bathtub had rust around the drain and something dripping around the edges along with what looked like gray paint on the tub. It looked like a worker had been there but never finished his job and no one checked his work! Overall we had a good stay, minus a shower! "

"A Beautifully Restored Historic Hotel in a Challenging Downtown Setting Pros - Stunning historic hotel beautifully renovated while preserving its 1920s character. - Impressive lobby and displays highlighting the building's history. - Friendly, professional staff. - Front desk quickly resolved a parking discrepancy and comped parking for the remainder of our stay. - Tastefully renovated room with microwave and fridge. - Comfortable bed. - Very good food and service at Shaughnessy's. - Sweet Praxis and Café Kubal are excellent breakfast options within walking distance. Cons - Ongoing construction made arrival confusing. - Valet podium was unattended when we arrived. - Parking can be difficult for first-time visitors; self-parking is in a garage across the street. - Room and bathroom were small by modern standards. - Downtown Syracuse has many vacant storefronts and visible homelessness that may make some guests uncomfortable, though we never felt threatened. - Eleven Waters was closed during our stay. Overall: The beautifully restored architecture, comfortable rooms, thoughtful amenities, and excellent staff make for a memorable stay. While the neighbourhood and parking situation present challenges, this remains one of the most distinctive places to stay in Syracuse. 4.5/5 stars. A beautifully restored historic hotel with excellent staff and character, somewhat offset by parking confusion, construction, and a downtown environment that may not appeal to everyone."

"A wonderful hotel and an exceptional experience was marred by one of the worst breakfast experiences we can recall. Although we arrived in the dining area at 9:15am - still 45 minutes til the end of service, there was little left. No eggs or any side dish. No batter left for waffles. There weren’t even coffee cups til we asked for some more to be brought out. There was syrup on the floor, where it had been for at least half an hour prior, per reports of those who’d been there. Every single table was dirty. Given the attention to detail that’s evident throughout the hotel, we were both surprised and disappointed."
