Our group enjoyed these accommodations. Beautifully decorated inside and out.Comfortable furniture. Quiet area - truly relaxing country environment. Plenty of room for our group of 10.
What a wonderful getaway Our group of 7 found this place to be a perfect spot to share our friends giving Couldnt have been happier with the house very clean nicely located
We had a pleasant few days at this home. We enjoyed the fire pit, and lots of time for board and yard games. We enjoyed the area’s beautiful hiking and recreation too!
We were in the area for an archery event so we needed a place to be able to relax and be comfortable when we were finished. This place fit the bill. It has every amenity, was super clean with lots of space for us to relax. Webwould definitely stay here again
Nice remote d css a in with tons of space and rooms right along the Cassleman river. Perfect for fishing or biking trips at nearby Confluence. Even has some good food within a reasonable drive. Cabin was clean and ready for us, host was accommodating and emailed to check in multiple times. Would absolutely recommend.
The house is charming and immaculate and positioned at the end of a road and just above the Casselman River. The host is friendly and flexible. While ours was a winter visit, the abundant forests, rivers, walking and biking paths, state parks and historic sites make this a warm weather base for active people.
The whole family thoroughly enjoyed the time didn’t together. All the spaces (front porch, backyard, fire pit, patio, kitchen & dining area) were perfect!
We loved our stay. The house was very clean and cool. We loved playing in the yard and the babbling river. Our only dislike was that some of the mattresses are due for replacement.
An excellent location for our family reunion. House was clean and comfortable with a very pleasant wrap-around porch, outdoor dining table and fire pit, and Deneane the host was terrific. It's nicely located on the river, within a walkable mile of a beautiful bike/hike trail running along the river. A very pleasant 25 minute drive from Kentuck Nob (the other Frank Lloyd Wright house in the area) that's well worth seeing.
The property was very spacious and fully equipped. Yard was fenced in and very private. Access to the river was easy. Deneane was wonderful to deal with. Town was very close and had everything we may have needed. Will hopefully stay here again !
We greatly enjoyed this property. Very rural, close to the river. The house was spacious for our adult kids and spouses and well-stocked with equipped kitchen and lots of little extras. Very clean and nicely decorated. The fenced in yard was perfect for the dogs and fire pit awesome for family time.
The cabin was comfortable, cozy and had everything we needed for a wonderful stay. Our family enjoyed hiking, fishing in the river, front porch conversations, camp fires, corn hole and the large kitchen for family meals! We had no issues but we had a few questions and the owners were very helpful and responded quickly. We are looking forward to a future stay at CCR.
We had a great stay! Location was quiet and a little off the beaten path, with plenty of room for our large family. We loved hearing the nearby Casselman River burbling and the distant train whistles. Deneane was very helpful and easy to communicate with. The large, fenced backyard was great for our little ones and doggie. Nice hammock trees too! :) Ohiopyle and the GAP trail are amazing and within easy reach.
The house was clean and roomy and well supplied with everything you need. The backyard was great for the dogs shaded by beautiful, mature oak trees, and had multiple seating options for sitting around a lovely fire pit. The area was quiet and remote and the nighttime chorus of crickets and frogs was almost deafening But still didn’t drown out the lovely river right next-door. The surrounding parks and quaint spots for eating made for a unique trip and a perfect anniversary getaway. Highly recommend.
The house was clean, well furnished and had a kitchen with more than enough cuttery, dinnerware, serving dishes and pots and pans. It had 2 crock pots which was nice to have. The owners were very receptive to any questions we had. They also responded quickly when having difficulty with the heat. The bed situation is in need of some chamges. Nearly EVERY BED in the house had divets from wear and tear. And nearly each bed was covered with a memory foam topper.
I had never been to the Ohiopyle area despite living in the region for 17 years. We found this house and it was a great base for enjoying all that the region has to offer. The water and air temps was as it was November, but in warmer months the proximity to the river would be fun to enjoy and play in. The house was exactly as listed. All kitchen equipment / tools were available and ready. House was clean. Checkout process was easy.
The property is very nice and as described, the location was not far from the many scenic areas we planned on visiting to take in the fall foliage. Due to the rain we didn't have the oppurtunity to explore the area around the cabin but as stated in the description it does sit direcly across from the water and it's not far from the bike trail. The only issue (not the fault of the owner though) the neighbors across the street were loud throughout the night with what sounded like they were having motorcycle races; it was unfortunate on our last night's stay. Overall I would recommend staying at this cabin especially if you like hiking, biking, nature trails, and the scenic landscapes and October is the the perfect month; and there was also the incredible Haunted Hollow attraction which was unexpectedly only 20 minutes away.
We were there for Whitewater canoeing and a cycling holiday with 8 Canadians in our group. We have stayed at 2 other rental properties in Confluence and they couldn't compare at all to how fabulous this one was. We usually make breakfast, take a lunch for the river or bike trail and eat our dinners out, however, with such a large and well appointed kitchen we found ourselves wanting to cook our own meals, or should I say BBQ. There was so much room that we never felt on top of one another. We ate indoors and outdoors on such a lovely well gardened and maintained property. We will definitely want to return again and again. The river was just across the road and hopefully next time the water level will be higher and we can paddle directly from the property. This property was the best we have ever stayed at using VRBO!!! Well done!
We had an incredible stay at the Casselman Cabin property. The location in Penn allowed for a somewhat centralized point where family members from Baltimore MD and Dayton OH were able to meet for a get away.
The house was as described with multiple bedrooms, spacious eating area and a large family room area where we were able to play games and watch movies. The kitchen was large and adequately equipped but would benefit with the addition of some sauce pans. There were plenty of towels, wash cloths and linens, and all of the pillows, bedding and linens smelled fresh and clean.
The pictures of the cabin are accurate but we were surprised at how close the proximity that the house was to the road and to the neighbor.
The Casselman Cabin was an excellent fit for our family and we would definitely rent it again for a family fun retreat. Thank you to our hosts

Birthday weekend
Overall the house was great! We did enjoy the fire pit. It was dog friendly with fenced yard and that was a big plus. It was a rainy weekend and the house was big enough to comfortably accommodate 13 and a dog since we all pretty much were inside except for one night.
I did not like that we had a neighbor a stone throw away and the River did not have great access. The internet was super slow, but we are used to that and no big deal. There were only two bathrooms which we were aware of and that was dodgy at times lol
I would give this house a 9.0/10 for aesthetically pleasing, but view I would give 6.5/10, and nothing you can do about that. Would recommend staying there for large groups and super easy to communicate with owner and close to many outdoor tourist locations, but due to the rain, we did not partake in those. Gotta take the pros with the cons and the pros outweighed the cons for sure.
The place was clean and spacious; the owners were super easy to get in touch with if we had any questions. I would definitely recommend this place, and I know I will be staying here again and again.
