My visit to Poulo Condor Boutique Hotel and Spa was one of the nicest holidays I have ever had. The setting of the bungalows - amidst lush green trees, flowers and abutting the ocean - was very special. The bungalows were lovely and comfortable, reflecting the colonial past yet very distinctly Vietnamese and with modern conveniences. The staff are very helpful; excellent food; and fabulous massages. Kayaks; bicycles; motor scooters; and more are available for free or very cheaply. Perfect for gentle water sports, hiking or and other nature activities or for simply staring at the ocean in a deck chair with a drink and book. Definitely value for money!

Everything was good overall. The location quite quiet and perfect for those looking for a relaxing stay. Some dishes at their restaurant quite overpriced and it took a while for all the dishes I ordered was served. If they could improve this then everything is perfect.

Amazing stay, amazing service, amazing food! Overall the best stay ever in Vietnam. Only flaw was the condition of the sport equipment which was either broken, dirty, old or not working properly. More and better equipment, more resort interactivity with the guests and the resort can run for 5 stars

Pleasant Stay but room for improvement
Poulo Condor is tucked away from town but a pretty and well maintained resort with polite and mostly helpful staff. Pros: 1. Nice Bar and Pool (with the odd day having free cocktail hour:) 2. Villa is spacious and quiet. Rooms are cleaned everyday 3. Staff mostly very polite and helpful (altho language barrier can be an issue sometimes) 4. Spa is great and lady that helped us was very kind Cons: 1. Beach is huge and windy. The resort do clean up their area (which is noble) but if you walk further down the beach it is like some apocalyptic rubbish dump. 2. Restaurant isn’t great. Food is over priced and mediocre at best. 3. Too far from town unless you want to hire and bike and run the gauntlet with Con Dao’s scary winds at times. 4. Not a lot to do at night except waste money in the restaurant or pay a premium to get a taxi into town Overall, I think the place is a little over priced. If you’re looking for a beach holiday, there are other resorts with far better beaches, but if you want peace and quiet, don’t mind travelling around to find idyllic spots then you might like Poulo Condor. Other points about the island: It is quite undeveloped, it lacks a lot of tourism infrastructure, many beaches are not maintained and for some reason lots of unfinished/abandoned hotels. That said, it does have a charm about it and I can see it being an amazing place one day. Definitely one for people that just want to hide from touristy destinations.

Beautiful pool villa and very tranquil setting. Resort about 15mins drive out of town with no mini bus service at night so taxis start to add up to go out each evening for dinner. At breakfast a portion of potatoes as a side dish was literally 1 small potato! Apart from this beautiful resort and amazing villas here.

Unique resort on Con Dao Island
The resort is beautifully layed out with a village feel - swimming pool is gorgeous, long golden sandy beach (unfortunately lots of rubbish being washed up-hotel does clean up everyday), the suite is very comfortable and spacious with all the factilites including large unique bathroom. We greatly enjoyed our stay and would recommend it whole-heartily.

Paradise
This is paradise on earth! I had a wonderful stay, unfortunately rather short but it will stay in my memories forever. The perfect place to relax and unwind from stressful work. The island is still not so exploited, which gives a feeling of complete tranquility. The area of the hotel is big, the distance between the houses is generous so you do not notice that there might be other people around. And the room/cottage itself is really nice and provides a lot of space. The bathroom is amazing, taking a shower under the stars is a unique experience. You can borrow bicycle or scooter from the hotel, so it is very easy to visit other beaches at the other side of the island, which is beneficial especially if the wind is blowing too hard on the side of the hotel beach. The next paradise beach is just 10 minutes bicycle ride away! The hotel is located about 12 km away from the city, there is a shuttle bus to the "city" but I only went there once and did not feel I needed to go there again. The only "downside" of the hotel is the fact that the ocean contains a lot of garbage. It is so sad to see how we human beings destroy everything on this earth, and not even this paradise is excluded. The hotel does a tremendous effort to clean the beach every day, they have 3 persons walking on the beach cleaning away all plastic, but with the tide new garbage comes, probably also depending on direction of wind. Still, it is a paradise and I just want to go back soon again!

Great unique location between the airport and the town. Lovely beach facing west. Windy if the wind is coming from the west. But other nearby beaches on the other side of the island if the wind is too strong.

Oasis of calm
Stunning resort, beautifully landscaped, staff very friendly couldn’t do enough. Very relaxing, amazing beach. Only negatives are the restaurant (hit and miss) and the price of drinks is very high compared to elsewhere around Vietnam £3 for a can of local beer is at least double what we paid in any other hotel on our travels (we stayed in many 5* properties).

Probably the Best Service I've Had in Vietnam
We really enjoyed our stay here. From pickup to departure, the staff were friendly and helpful - among the best I've experienced in Vietnam. The villas are charmingly designed and accessible, yet private, tucked away by trees yet only a quick stroll to the beach. We loved the private, quiet beach with clear turquoise water. We did go during "low-season" but it almost felt like we had the resort to ourselves. You're only a 15 minute drive from the "center of town" should you see the prisons, cemetery and museum - a must in my opinion. We took bicycles to nearby Dam Trau beach. I will highly recommend this hotel to our friends.

A serene and calm oasis!
This hotel was located only 5 minutes from the airport but you would never know it. It was a serene oasis with a beautiful lily pond, foot bridge and quiet walking paths. Recommend to those who like their peace and quiet! It is a bit far from the main town so, if you want to be close to restaurants and tourist attractions, then this may not be the best choice. The staff, particularly Cristy, at the hotel are amazing—really attentive to detail and helpful in arranging day trips. Loved the charm, character and quiet in this hotel!

What could be better?
Beautiful room in a beautiful location, I struggle to believe anywhere could be better. Staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming, the private beach is tranquil and the spa and treatments are a real experience. Hotel food is fine, nothing exciting, but that is the only kink in an otherwise faultless stay.

Excellent retreat in Con Dao
We tremendously enjoyed our time here. It was a relaxed and quiet experience. The room was well-appointed and the staff was excellent, and the nearby town was fare more charming than we were lead to believe. I'd recommend both Poulo Conodr and Con Dao in general to anyone.

Beautiful, pretty, outstanding place! Bats, birds, wild animal :) Everything ruined by a very bad service. In Spite of smiling faces, the service is terrible, as examples: 1- they forget us at the airport. No one came to take us, we had to call the reception. 2- minimum time to get your meal 30 to 45 mins 3 - every time they make a mistake on the order. Not once, nor two, every time 4 - they can deliver half order and then forget the other half. Then you wait 45 min more. 5 - we had to ask a second cleaning after the housekeeping came to our room. We only expect that new management will change this terrible service.

The last bit of old Vietnam.
Fantastic island retreat with incredibly helpful staff. Isolated beaches and solo hikes a must. The beds with mosquito netting are like little cocoons, and the room is airy and bright. Untouched Vietnam--go before gentrification and tourism fully sets in.

An excellent stay. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The resort organises some activities if you want to tear yourself away from the pool. The restaurant on site sells reasonably priced Vietnamese meals. The beach is beautiful, but while we were there the wind kept most people off it. The resort is close to the airport, but is a fair out of the main town on the island, which doesn’t have many facilities- although it was Tet, the lunar new year. The island itself is beautiful and so far not spoiled by development. The resort is ideal if you want a quiet get away from it all holiday.

Beautiful and relaxing getaway!
We very much enjoyed our stay at Poulo Condor and the island of Con Dao! -The grounds and rooms are beautiful and quiet (which was appreciated after being in larger cities before coming to the island), and the staff and management were friendly and helpful throughout our visit. -We had breakfast daily in the large dining area near the beach, and the menu was diverse with a daily chef special as well. -There is a beach area with a few private covered lounge areas...staff keeps the area clean daily from the debris. -The pool is nice and comfortable with a beautiful view of the mountains, and the spa was a lovely experience! We extended our stay longer than originally planned at the resort as we really enjoyed being there, and the staff was great with assisting us to change our flights. We felt totally relaxed after our stay at Poulo Condor! The only disadvantage within is also an advantage (as it's so quiet of the resort) is that it's quite far from town. We rented a scooter during our stay (which the staff was very helpful in securing for us), and we used it to go in and out of town daily. We took a taxi if we decided to go to the town during the evening, and it's about a 20 minute drive. The staff was great in contacting a taxi for us, and the resort also has a shuttle bus to the town center so you can take the bus in and out of town twice a day (specific times). Also, the resort shuttle transported us to and from the airport.

A very secluded and comfortable resort
I can highly recommend this place on Condor Island. The staff at the housekeeping, restaurant and reception all speak good English and were paying a lot of attention to make our stay comfortable. This is probably the best mid-range location you can find on Con Dao.

We stayed at Poulo Condor Boutique Resort and Spa for 5 days and had a wonderful time. The room was spacious and tastefully decorated with all amenities one could wish for. Staff was very courteous and helpful at all times - we received a warm welcome at the airport and were treated attentively throughout our entire stay. The beach was wonderful and I would highly recommend to feature it on the hotel website/description as it would have convinced me even more to stay at Poulo Condor Boutique Resort and Spa. The Hotel wasn't finished during our stay which didn't bother us at all - no construction noises and important facilities (pool, bar, mini-restaurant) were ready. However, I think management should let guests know in advance as this might spoil someone's expectation/holidays.

Beautiful colonial style bungalows, very clean and spacious. The grounds are amazing and the private beach is second to none. Appreciated the free kayaking, bikes and snorkels. The fruit platter was also a nice touch. Staff is friendly and helpful if not always at a five star level. Food was delicious. The complimentary airport pickup is a great start and finish to a stress free vacation. Highly recommend recommended
