This was everything I wanted in my vacation. The lake is big enough to enjoy but small enough where it doesn't attract visitors outside of people staying at the lake.
We relaxed everywhere: by the fire, in the hammock, on the kayaks, canoe, and pedal boat, the porch, and living room.
The space was great and really let us unplug for the week.
We were looking for a nice cozy cabin to spend a weekend away from the world for a bit and this place was perfect. The atmosphere was excellent, the weather was stormy for a stay-cation away from home. Communication with the host was excellent, everything went well. I think our favorite memory of the cabin was enjoying a beer cheese soup lunch in heavy rain out on the covered patio during the afternoon's thunder and lightning.
We were fortunate enough to have great weather and spent most of our time outside. We never even used the basement. I was on the lake by 5:30am every day and didn't see or hear anyone else until after 7:00. I got to enjoy the sunrises with the loons, geese and multiple deer rooming the shore. I almost forgot about how great the fishing was. I'm not sure what else we could have asked for?
Everything is onsite that you could possibly need! Quiet, lakefront access, kajaks, canoe, paddleboat etc. Kitchen well equipped, beds comfortable and best of all....PET FRIENDLY! WE LOVED OUR STAY
The cabin is beautiful and has an amazing view from the screened in patio of the lake. Very quiet. Loved the sauna and hot tub. Would highly recommend!
We had a very nice stay here in late June of 2019. Really enjoyed the kayaks and wildlife. It is a very good panfishing and swimming lake, and despite it being mid-summer, there was not too much boat traffic. We both like solitude and quiet on vacations and there was enough of it to be comfortable here. The screened in porch is a bonus (lots of mosquitos, and it allowed for enjoying the outdoors during a thunderstorm). Relatively short road trips to St. Croix Falls, Cumberland, Turtle Lake, etc are an option as well. Owner/operator was very communicative and attentive to a few inquiries we had. Overall 5 stars.
Had to postpone a trip to Texas to see our son. Still had the time if work so we got lucky and found Loon Lake. I fell in love with the fireplace in the pictures and the proximity from home was perfect. Enjoyed the peace and quiet. Everything was as described. They western tried to figure out a way for us to watch the Vikings game!
As soon as we walked in the door we knew we would want to come back! It was a lovely space with so many thoughtful touches that made it feel like we were at home immediately. The beds were comfy and the shower was fantastic. There were so many spaces to hang out with a full house of people that it never felt cramped, but also allowed us to gather together easily. We visited in the winter, and the fireplace and large stock of firewood was such a joy to our experience. We can’t wait to come back and experience it in the summer. This is one of the best VRBO spots I’ve ever stayed at and can’t recommend it enough! I had a few questions and the property manager was quick and easy to communicate with. We even extended our stay an extra night.
Wonderful place! We felt like we were in a tree house. The lake was clean and actually very warm, and we all enjoyed swimming. We will definitely consider renting again!
Such a wonderful property to stay at, everything was as listed. The lake was amazing to cool off in and we loved paddle boarding around. Quiet stay even though there are other houses and people nearby. Location was perfect, in the country, but not too far from groceries or entertainment. Definitely recommend this wonderful spot.
We had an awesome time during our trip this fall. The colors were beautiful and it was a great place to enjoy nature. We enjoyed cozying up by the fireplace to watch movies. Everything we could need was provided and we would love to visit again!
This cabin was super cozy and very comfortable. The outdoor shower was seriously the best touch ever, and I think we were on the paddle boards or petal boat for 99% of our stay. Thanks so much!!
We booked this cabin as a last minute trip to get away with the kids before they went back to school. Overall the cabin was a nice retreat but there are a few things that were dissapointing. The listing said there was a canoe which wasn't there. The main living room remote was missing many buttons and one couch had small tears in it. I messaged the property owner on day 2 abiut these issues and never got a response. The bathroom door wouldn't latch properly so anyone could just walk in. Lastly we never discovered exactly what the noise was but every morning around 3 am you could hear what sound like a never ending washer stuck on spin cycle in the main bedroom that would last for a couple hours. This would wake me up every morning and I would just go sleep on the couch. For the amount we paid a night I wasn't expecting to have these issues.
Other than these issues we had a great time. The kids learned to kayak and paddle board and we were able to enjoy our boat. I will say with the boat ramp that having 4 wheel drive is a MUST. We were able to put our boat in but struggled to get it out. Luckily there were some nice locals who helped get us out. Highly recommend checking out Louis finest meats in Cumberland, their meat sticks, steaks and brats were so delicious. We will definitely continue visiting Wisconsin.
The house was very cute and welcoming. There were areas on the outside that could use some attention. Busted stair going down to the lake. The landscape was in need of some tending since it’s taken over by weeds. And the dock is quite wobbly. Otherwise a nice cozy place to stay.
We loved the cabin and the lake. My son brought his flat bottom boat and enjoyed lots of good fishing. The lake was perfect for paddle boarding and kayaking. Our dog enjoyed the water too! I enjoyed sitting on the screened porch and enjoying the view of the lake. We would stay here again!
