Amazing home
You can tell the host put a lot of time and effort into decorating this home. When I tell you this home is beautifully decorated and equipped with everything you could possibly need for your stay with extra emphasis on EVERYTHING! It was very spacious and it accommodated myself and my guests comfortably. I rented this home for my daughter’s graduation party and we had about twenty eight guests to attend. The plan was to enjoy the upper and lower levels of the porch but the weather said otherwise. Even though it rained, we were still able to fit comfortably inside without being cramped on top of one another. There was plenty of dining space and recreational space. Like I said, the house literally had everything. The host was also very helpful. I had some questions upon arrival so I sent the host a message and when I say not only did they respond promptly, they called me. I’ve stayed at several other places before and never once have I had the host reach out through a phone call, they would always message. The host was extremely patient and polite and you could just feel the positive energy through the phone. They urged me that if I had any other questions or concerns to please reach out without hesitation. I could go on and on about my experience with this host and the porch house but I will end it with this, UNTIL NEXT TIME!

Very pleasant experience and amazing host!
Staying at the Porch House was an absolute delight! Sondra, along with her husband, were incredibly hospitable hosts who truly exceeded our expectations. Sondra's personal touches, like the freshly baked bread and homemade strawberry jam, added an extra layer of warmth to our stay. Their responsiveness and helpfulness made the experience seamless. The house itself was impeccably clean with a beautiful view, delivering everything we anticipated and more. We're already looking forward to our next booking!

Daughters UPT graduation
This was a perfect spot for family to stay for a ceremony and dinner at the Air Force Base. A lovely home and we really enjoyed it. My mother left an earring in the bathroom and the host mailed it back to us. Very kind hosts. Highly recommend.

Christmas at the Porch House
Overall it was a great stay at the Porch House. We had 6 adults staying here and it was very comfortable for all of us. Sondra was amazing to communicate with from start to finish. When we arrived she met us at the house and gave us the rules and information we needed for the stay. She also made us some amazing homemade bread and jam that was sitting on the counter when we arrived! It was very good and thoughtful of her. We celebrated Christmas with some family in Columbus and the surrounding area. They all came over and visited during our stay. There was plenty of parking and it was comfortable moving around and utilizing all the amazing space available to us. I had asked Sondra if she had a Christmas tree available for us to put up since we were hosting Christmas and had a number of small children. She pulled one out of her garage and had it ready for me to setup! We utilized the kithen, cooked up a storm and had lots of laughs and fun thanks to our thoughtful host. There were great views and peacful area on the back porch. It was amazing!

We enjoy providing a space for families to celebrate. Joe and his guests seemed to enjoy The Porch House during Christmas. They had other guests join them to celebrate Christmas; and though I'm not sure how many guests joined them, they were respectful of The Porch House. The house was well cared for even if they did have a large group for a party. We enjoy having such wonderful guests!

MSU weekend
We LOVE the porch house! Our son is a sophomore in the band at MSU. We've stayed in several different places for football game weekends or other visits over the last two years and the porch house is our favorite by far. Thanks so much to Sondra for hosting us for 4 weekends this past season. My wife and I stay with my parents usually. Sometimes my brother and nephew also join us. Two king size beds! 1.5 baths upstairs AND downstairs! Separate thermostats for upstairs and downstairs. We cook and enjoy family time around the big table. The porch is very relaxing. The bread and jelly are delicious.

Lovely home and hosts
We enjoyed our stay at the porch house! Our trip was to visit our freshman son at MSU. It was a short easy drive to Starkville from here. We enjoyed gameday and celebrated a birthday. The house had everything we needed and plenty of space for us to hang out and catch up. The yard and porches make the house feel special. Sondra and her husband James were perfect hosts. The sourdough bread and jam were so appreciated. We can't wait for our next visit to the porch house.

Wonderful stay
Our family enjoyed our stay so much in this lovely home. The home is comfortable, clean and beautifully renovated. While sitting on the porch we watched birds, even an owl, and deer come into the yard. Sondra, our host even left us two loaves of homemade bread and strawberry fig jam which we enjoyed immensely! Highly recommend if staying in Columbus.

Graduation and Air Force Commissioning
We needed the home for 10 days to be near Starkville MS for MSU graduation and Air Force Commissioning. We had several people coming and going, but the houses' three bedrooms, and couches were more than enough. The yard was large and allowed friends to play darts, etc. outside. We had the pleasure of meeting Sondra's husband. All very friendly and helpful. They are very accommodating people. They made our time there a pleasant one. Thanks again for everything.

Great MSU weekend
This was our 2nd stay at the Porch House. Everything was fantastic once again! Two king size beds. 1.5 baths upstairs and downstairs. Separate thermostats upstairs and downstairs. Those are some of our favorite features.

Let first start off by saying Jim and Sondra are the best hostess we have ever encountered. We experienced the best hospitality ever. On a arrival we learned that there was no heat due to the weather conditions. They went above and beyond to accommodate us. The house was exactly how it was displayed on the website. I would definitely book this place again. And to top it off Sondra made homemade bread with strawberry and fig jam. Perfection!

Dneishia and her family visited during a severe and atypical cold weather storm. They were so understanding as we worked to ensure they had hot water. Fortunately the problem was corrected within a few hours, but we appreciated our guests understanding. Very gracious guests!

Beautiful property, the pictures don’t do it justice. We loved the large windows that allowed us to enjoy all the beauty of nature. Beautiful Property - Felt Like a Gorgeous Treehouse
Lovely home, perfectly decorated. The porch was fantastic, we spent most of our time outside overlooking the woods. The hosts were lovely, including the fresh sourdough bread and strawberry fig preserves. The house was right off the road but completely hidden in the woods. The location was close to all the stores. We will definitely return when we visit the area. Highly recommended.

We needed a place large enough to accommodate our family during my son's graduation at Mississippi State. The Porch House was a perfect location! Sondra and her husband were wonderful hosts and their home is absolutely beautiful! When we arrived at the home she had 2 loaves of homemade bread and strawberry jam waiting on the counter- it was amazing!! The boys enjoyed exploring the woods behind the home and fishing in a pond they discovered on the property. I would highly recommend this home for any family needing a place to stay in the Starkville/Columbus area.

Just Perfect
The Porch House provided the perfect environment for our family weekend celebrating a University of Alabama graduation. Three generations (12 of us) met there and spent 3 wonderful nights together cooking, playing, exploring and enjoying being together. The 3 living areas provided plenty of room for us to gather and visit, the sleeping arrangements were comfortable and the kitchen and dining room made our meals easy and together. The kids loved exploring the trails and playing in the huge yard while the grown-ups watched from the comfort of the rocking chairs. And it doesn’t hurt to have a Dollar General Store about 5 minutes away. Sondra is a joy to meet and work with, and I highly recommend this home away from home. You will not regret it!

College Reunion
This is the perfect property in every way. We wanted a home with room to hang out with our friends, and this is it. The description and pictures on VRBO are spot on but fail to mention one item - the hostess is lovely, even leaving homemade bread and preserves for us.

Perfect fit for our big family
The porch house was gorgeous, all new. Plenty of room for the 8 of us. property sits on 40 acres and the views from the porch and many kitchen, living room windows makes you feel like you are sitting in the trees. Outdoor grill was a plus.

Egg Bowl Retreat
My family of four along with another family of four spent our Thanksgiving at The Porch House where we thoroughly enjoyed the space that had plenty of room for the children to play. The close proximity to MSU made for an easy commute to the Egg Bowl and we were even able to take advantage of the scenic Columbus Riverwalk for our informal turkey trot to walk off some of the extra calories. Our group would certainly consider this property again the next time we come to town for a Mississippi State event.

Southern Hospitality!
Sondra was an outstanding hostess. She gave us directions and talked us in when we had trouble (we arrived after dark). We were greeted to homemade, freshly baked bread and preserves in the kitchen and a fridge stocked with ice cold bottled water. The house (remodeled by Sondra and her husband who live nearby) was gorgeous. The wraparound porch is definitely the showpiece, but the entire house is amazing and well appointed, not to mention very tastefully decorated. I especially enjoyed the walk in shower after a long day of touring the local college (the reason for our visit). The house was immaculately clean. Since our daughter committed to playing softball there we will definitely be renting The Porch House again! Thanks Sondra!

Although we were in Columbus for a sad reason, my family and I thoroughly enjoyed the accommodations at The Porch House.

The PORCH HOUSE is DREAM! We loved it! There is soooo much space, serenity, sunlight! It is truly a dream! The owners are the SWEETEST people ever! They treated us like ROYALTY!!!
