I was hoping to get some rest in a really nice hotel after driving several hours. But no rest for the weary! The sheets were SO itchy. I don't think it's that I was allergic to the detergent, but perhaps that there was too much detergent used?? Or they had no concept of thread count? Either way, I slept very poorly, used a dress of mine to cover the sheets, and woke up with a rash on the body parts that touched the sheets. The beds are also beyond firm and into brick-like territory. As I was driving across country and also had to work remotely, I didn't have the energy to move to a different hotel. They have a community microwave rather than personal ones in each room. Super hygienic during covid, eh? The shower. OMG the floor of the shower looked too dirty for anyone to get clean in. Like it was tiled with the dirty feet of 100 old men. This hotel is absolutely beautiful on the outside and in the lobby. But the rooms? For over $300 a night I expected something approximating luxury. What I got was a barely 2-star experience in 5-star wrapping. Don't get fooled like I did.
